WTF, over??

::transmission coming in garbled:::

I had a telephone conference with my attorney on Tuesday morning. And first she said we're going to end up reopening the claim... followed by legal language I don't have a fucking clue about.

Then she said the doctor who did the medical evaluation said I had 50% injury/50% fat and arthritic like a decrepit old beagle. Although perhaps the technical term for me, with my sad face would be Basset hound. (She didn't actually say that, she used legal language that made me even more clueless. Never mentioned dogs once.)

At the end of the phone call I don't know a whole lot more than I did at the beginning, but do have a couple people to talk to about it to help me clarify.

I am a lot confused, aggravated, knees are sore but better, and I'm tired of all the stupid that just comes spewing out from unexpected sources all the time. I'm also stressed out and taking Imodium because of the stress.
Stress does weird things to me.
Even when I'm on drugs to derail the crazy train.
It causes that wait I talked about before.

On the good side.
It's a four day work week. (school district budget reduction day on Friday) followed by a four day weekend.
And not that I'm counting, but after that, there are 12 more 5 AM mornings until school is OUT for the summer.

I've been doing this job for two school years now.

I had a hard time making the decision to move from my old school. It was a lot of pressure for me at first, but I'm very glad now that I made the move. I have mentioned once or twice here that I love my job, right? I do miss working with Sunshine, but am still pretty grateful that I had the opportunity to learn so much from her.

Also. When I was going to sleep on Monday night, I happened to discover a long whisker growing on the left front of my neck. And I promised myself that I'd pull it out first thing in the morning. And damned if I didn't check for it every time I rolled over all night long. Obsess much?

Yes. I pulled it out before I even peed on Tuesday morning. Before you cheer, realize that another one will be along to take its place in a week or two.

And what the hell is the deal with the adolescent skin? I swear, between the whiskers, the moley growths and the goddamn zits I don't know if I am a man, woman, something other, or nothing at all.

I'm going with 'tired woman' for now.

Ah, lawyers! Sometimes I miss working as a paralegal and trying to translate all of that legalease into something a bit more coherent for clients. ;)

Oh my gosh, if I go to bed at night with a single-minded thought, you can bet I wake up still focused on it! (This morning, it's a Pokemon analogy on my mind...)

I have evil chin hairs. I think it's an Italian thing, because my mom and her sister, and their mom get them too. *grumble* Oh yes, I pluck those mofos faster than you can say "pluck those mofos"!

  3. Definitley a woman Ami, hate to bash but men couldn't handle the strain!! The lawyer needs to speak english. And I don't care what you weigh, the knee did not hurt till you injured it AT WORK. you could be Jabba the freakin hut(which I know you are not) and have no pain and the attitude of the doc would still be very discrimanatory! and stressing you out till your guts are such a mess that your inside are trying to get out???NOT GOOD

So sorry to hear things are not easy, but they never are in Legal Land--are they?

  5. Ugh . . . I vote for tired woman too - otherwise that puts me in the "unknown" category as well.

  6. Legal issues are never fun. On the other hand, four day weekends, ARE. Have a good one!

And that chin hair thing? They ALWAYS come back. I bought one of those "Finishing Touch" electric little wands that just shaves off the unwanted hairs. They are wonderful!

  7. UGH!! and if it is any consolation...I am 51 and STILL have zits! as they are booming on my chin as we speak.
Hang in there Dear-- seriously, what doesn't kill you does make you stronger; I can attest to that from personal experiences. You just have to be determined not to let the bastards get you down.
My thoughts and prayers are with you...
