Remember 'In The News'?

You may remember the mini current events program if you were a child of the 60's or 70's. From my quick reading this morning, I see the show was on Saturday mornings until 1985. It was a series of small news broadcasts, shown in between cartoon shows. (And can I digress here to say how crappy today's cartoons are compared to the ones that were on then?)

ANYWAY...

I found two news stories in the last couple days that appealed to my sense of poetic justice.

First, we have this gem:

You can click on the link, but since I am not constrained by having to use proper grammar and sentence structure and I don't have to tell the whole story, here's the short version.

Some dumbass tried to rob a car wash using a fake gun. Gun caught on guy's waistband, hit the floor and fell apart. Quick-thinking car wash employee then turned a high pressure hose on the would-be robber and robber ran away. With a sore nose, since that's where the water hit first.

Score one for the good guys.

Then, this one from the local newspaper: Intruder picks the wrong victim
(Yes, that is my comment posted first on the newspaper's website.) Here's the shortened version in case you don't want to follow the link.

A naked pervert walked into the home of an elderly lady (88 years old!) and tried to hurt her. She grabbed him where it counts and gave him a good hard squeeze. He did not like it and left. And the cops caught him.
I think it's relevant to mention the man's name is 'Dick'. Seriously.

Score another one for the good guys.
