Tag! I'm it!

My friend Amy tagged me this week. Doesn't she know I'm a semi-radical unschooler? Hmm. Maybe she does, and she thought my answers would be interesting. As I read over the list, I wonder about that, too.

ONE HOMESCHOOL BOOK YOU HAVE ENJOYED: After Homeschool by Tamra Orr. I like this book not because it lists all the possibilities for homeschoolers (you'd need more pages to do that) but because it gets you thinking and shares a glimpse into other people's success at homeschooling. After reading this book, I found that there are many ways to define successful. And although it's old, Grace Llewellyn's book Real Lives is good, too.
ONE RESOURCE YOU WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT: My computer. Everyone used it until a couple years ago when our son bought his own. But the computers in our house are used daily. We all write, use the internet, and share funny/scary emails with each other.
ONE RESOURCE YOU WISH YOU HAD NEVER BOUGHT: I can't think of one I have purchased that we didn't use in some way. I do wish I hadn't purchased so much the first year we started homeschooling. My mind still thought learning had to be divided into subjects and time slots. It really limited us for a time.
ONE RESOURCE YOU ENJOYED LAST YEAR: There are a couple chat rooms I go to. Mostly homeschooling moms, although we occasionally get a jerk or a pervert stopping in. That can actually be entertaining, too. Talking with other homeschooling moms is good therapy for me. I've often said it's not homeschooled kids who need the socialization, it's the moms!
ONE RESOURCE YOU'LL BE USING NEXT YEAR: Don't know. Our learning (for the whole family) takes many paths and forms. We all spend a lot of time sharing what we know, what we're learning and what we'd really like to do/know next.
ONE RESOURCE YOU'D LIKE TO BUY: One more computer. It doesn't have to be hooked up to the internet, but it would be good to have just one more.
ONE RESOURCE YOU WISH EXISTED: I'd really love to have a masseuse/maid-in-a-box. (and no, I am not talking about one of those, um, torpedo shaped massagers.) I mean one who will come out only when called and rub my shoulders, my feet, and my upper back. Then, go back into its closet, and not require any sort of maintenance. This ravishing creature would also do laundry, clean floors, and cook meals. It would accompany me to the once-a-week moms only events held at Homeschooler's Mountain, a retreat somewhere where we can all hang out and chat in person. Free teleportation provided to people who really can't get away long or hate the travel part of the journey. I'd share my masseuse with those who forget to bring theirs.
ONE HOMESCHOOL CATALOG YOU ENJOY READING: I don't receive any homeschool catalogs. Weird, huh?
ONE WEBSITE YOU USE REGULARLY: Google. Daily. There's always something.
