Stampeded

It may interest you to know that although the medical insurance was a huge issue, I had decided that I was no longer going to work for Fluffy the Fuckin' Buffalo.

I started working on my resignation the day I found a new job.

I had planned to ask her for a real raise. Just to see what she'd say. Play a little game with her. Eric said, "But what if she gives you the raise?"

I had that covered, too.
That was when I planned to take off the gloves and smack that old buffalo on the nose with every truth I could.

You had the chance to remedy the wage inequity in March. Don't tell me you 'couldn't' do anything about it, or act like you didn't have any choice. I happen to know about the offer you made to my old assistant, Karen, to take on the site director position at the school you pushed Erica out of. I know about your friends who got a bonus for staying through the school year. I know about the huge bonus you gave to Hannah to be the summer site director, even though she had never worked over summer before. I know about the things you said to Shelley and to Erica and what you did to Mabel.

I know that after Carey and Sunshine and I went to the big fish that you told Twatwaffle and Snippy allll about it. There is no way they'd have been so nasty to Carey if you had not. Carey worked two days of Spring Break... and then had to take the rest of the week off due to the hostile work environment.

I know that your friends get more hours and higher hourly pay than those of us who have stayed at our jobs through some really appalling choices of manager and shitty circumstances.

Your nasty friends, who can't get their noses out of your ass. Or is it you who can't get your nose out of theirs?

You have hired child abusers and held them and their programs up as something to aspire to.
You are a liar.
You came in and crapped all over the floor and trampled everyone.
You're... well, you're the turd in the punchbowl.

So stay and drink. It's all yours.

These are horrible individuals. Despite what I wrote up for my resignation, they will think I left because of the money. Bless their hearts... their little brains are limited.

But if that were true, I wouldn't have stayed for so long. I've *never* made much money at it. But it didn't matter. I was happy with my job. If I owned a company and had people who'd given as much dedication as I have... personal and professional investment... that whole hands-on, heart-involved thing? I would do almost anything to keep those people happy.

That school was my second home, and Fluffy the Buffalo had to come in and shit all over.

These people are so goddamned stupid.
So they didn't want to pay me what they were paying brand new hires... now they have to hire someone and pay them!

And the person they're going to hire (I know this without even having a clue who it is) will be an educrat. Will not give a shit about how much the children enjoy the program or how much the person cares about kids. Those are very much secondary concerns with this bunch.

The day I sent my resignation, I dropped some cards into the mailbox.
Oops, I accidentally addressed some cards while I was still at my school to go out to my current families.

Would you like to read the letter?
Of course you would. Coming soon.

    1. Oh I hope so. I really do. There will be some information going to some higher up people. They may choose to do nothing, at this point I wouldn't be surprised. But I know of at least six families who took their children out of summer program because they didn't like what was being offered. They were running way below the usual numbers after week 3, too. It was a crappy program, staffed by (mostly) crappy people. When numbers start to go down, then corporate starts to pay attention. Because that's really all they care about.

  2. This is worse than TV! What a cliff hanger.
Wish she'd at least feel the shame, hope someone eventually makes her feel what she deserves.
And crossing fingers for what is to come - at the old and at the new sites.

    1. She is mentally ill. Had I known that when I tried reasoning with her, I wouldn't have bothered trying to reason with her. It's like trying to make suggestions to a tree. The tree just... stands there. Waves its branches a little, maybe changes color a bit. But it's not able to REALLY change. And it's a little unfair to ask a tree to be other than a tree. The same goes for Fluffy.

I hate her. But I feel sorry for her, too. Usually people who are that messed up have gone through a lot of pain in life... either that's what messed them up, or because they ARE such wrecks, they're unable to have healthy relationships. There's enough *person* in her to know that she's not right. But not enough person to figure out that it's really up to her to do something about it.

    1. Well, I can't say I'd be sorry to see a tree or two laid out and decomposing.
