I had a crappy night last night. Headache, migraine pill, the
resulting up-every two-hours-to-pee-because-of-the-migraine-pill parade,
and an early awakening that, despite heroic effort on my part, I wasn't
able to beat. I tried. I did. I wanted to go back to sleep. I think I
did manage about 10 minutes just before it was time to get up.
Had a date with Tami.
So what did I do? Did I get into the shower and start getting ready? Oh hell no. I pulled a big pajama shirt out of the soak bucket and dyed it.
It was dyed, washed and dried in 2 hours and in her hands.
She was surprised. I was, too. I usually leave the shirts in the dye for at least 24 hours, which is what one does 'for maximum dye retention'. But I really, really wanted to surprise her with something fun.
What do you think?
Matt says the back of the shirt 'looks like a bacterial infection'. But what does he know? :)

I think the front will accent her boobs, and the back looks like mitosis.
ReplyDeleteHaha.. the heart isn't in the right spot to show boobs as when one is wearing a bajammie shirt without a bra, the boobs are on the knees. Or maybe that's just me.

I think it was lovely, generous, colorful, and unexpected. I am so lucky to be the recipient and I have spent the entire evening with it on. Thanks for loving me, friend.

DeleteThe effects are beautiful but it uses a LOT of dye.
I have a blue shirt I'm waiting to shrink into. I grabbed the wrong one when I was looking for 'blanks' and made a gorgeous shirt that I can't wear.
