I'm psycho. Er, psychic.

I dreamed about ants on Thursday night.
We adopted anteaters to deal with them in my dream, but when we woke up to ants all over the kitchen counter this morning, anteaters weren't an option.

It's weird, too. There *is* no food out. There were no crumbs. They weren't congregating anywhere, so they're searching. Eric said that he thinks that they're just starving and were looking for food.

Did you know that ants really hate tea tree oil? Take a q-tip and smear it along the wall where they usually come in and they won't come in for awhile. After the scent dries up, they come back if there's anything for them to eat, but it does help at least temporarily. If you have pets or small children, it's a lot safer than pesticide, too.

The tea tree oil kills them on contact, too. The housewife version of acid rain.
I have a bottle that originally contained the spray on hair gel I use. After rinsing it out, I put about two inches of tea tree oil in it. A mist of tea tree oil all over the counters killed quite a few of the little warriors. I almost felt bad. Almost.

We tossed all the towels/dishcloths into the washer, scrubbed everything we could, and still found a few stragglers.

Everything that's out is sealed into bags or bowls. I can't imagine that even a bit of scent is getting out. And still they march in.

Odd that I dreamed about ants and then they showed up.

Okay. Working on a little birthday surprise for Tami. She's still recovering from her surgery, and Sunday is her birthday.

An excuse for me to draw/be crafty?
I'll take it.

    1. It is SO FRUSTRATING because there's nothing for them. I can't imagine them in a bathroom, there's even less there than in a kitchen. At least in most bathrooms. :)

  3. Ants were a huge problem for us the first few years we lived here. No idea what I'm doing differently, but they haven't been a problem for a while now - thankfully - knock on wood and all that.
