Once again, the supplies we need for this week at summer camp have not been delivered in a timely fashion.
Due to a piece of paper I signed, I can't say bad things about the company I work for, although the interruption in the supply chain isn't really the company's fault. Unless of course you say, "Well, the 'company' hired the boss person and since the boss person isn't doing everything s/he is supposed to do, it is the company's fault."
You might say that.
I certainly will not.
Nor will I speculate about why things aren't happening the way they need to. I won't suggest that perhaps s/he has more important things to do than make sure our summer program runs efficiently and that people are possibly not getting the best we have to offer. I won't talk about the new relationship s/he is involved in an HOUR'S DRIVE away. And that it's sort of hard to do a job here when you're there.
It's sort of depressing, really.
Those of us who've done the job forever and ever (amen) have worked hard to build up our summers. The people in the trenches were the ones who came up with many of the activities and things the kids look forward to every summer.
Not that we're being allowed to do them.
I'm frustrated. It's more frustrating because we're supposed to follow a certain protocol when there are issues, and the first point of contact is the supervisor who's so remote s/he may as well be on Mt. Everest.
I have contacted the person up the line from the immediate supervisor once in the entire time I've worked for this company. (9 years now, about to start the 10th). I did get results, found that person receptive to my concerns, and was ultimately glad I'd called.
But it's a big step.
Meanwhile, summer is going to be over in (checking calendar here) a little less than five weeks and I'll be back to school and my regular program, where I don't have to depend on someone to get supplies to me on a schedule since I stockpile. :)
I wish I knew how to get things going in the right direction again for the rest of summer. This summer has not been exactly stress-free.
::sigh::
Wish I had some answers for you. sighhhh
ReplyDeleteCan feel my gut tightening in frustration for you.
(((hugs)))
I've never had a situation like the one we're in right now. None of us know what to do. Hard to take care of the issue when you may be jeopardizing your job.
DeleteBeing dependent on someone else always has the potential to be frustrating, especially if that person isn't dependable!
ReplyDeleteJust think of what you could have done with those bag of Jesus statues! ;)
