So I called my attorney this week.
The money owed to me hasn't all showed up and I wanted to know why.
Guess what? Once the court case has been won and the screaming stops and dust settles... *I* am responsible for letting everyone know where the bills go!
So there are a ton of outstanding bills out there. All still unpaid. Because evidently hiring an attorney doesn't take care of everything.
It would have been nice if someone said to me, "Okay, you won your case. Here's what you need to do next." And then informed me of all the rest of what needed to happen.
Jesus. It's going to be interesting trying to handle all this stuff.
I had a medical professional who was not involved with my injuries tell me that if she were hurt at work she would lie and say it happened at home. That paying the insurance deductible would be preferable to the extreme bullshit that is work comp.
And it's a little late for me to lie and say I got hurt at home, I guess.
Jesus again.
Pass the goddamn Xanax, willya?
**SIGH...**
ReplyDeleteYeah. ::sigh::
DeleteI have dismissed it from my universe for the weekend, but will start making phone calls on Monday.
:::sigh:::
Just another thing no one freaking tells you, right? Good luck getting it sorted out.
ReplyDeletePisses me right off, too. I mean, how fucking hard would it be to make a little form letter... 'You won. Now what?'
DeleteBet "your" attorney has been paid.
ReplyDeleteShe sure has. :)
DeleteOh for sh*ts sake!!!! Do they think you are a mind reader???
ReplyDeleteWait... but was the Xanax covered by the case medical bills as well?
ReplyDeleteWell, that sucks.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a lawyer... nor have I ever played one before... but I would think that should have been something that either your lawyer should have handled for you, or had been the party to inform you.
ReplyDeleteHow sad...
~shoes~
Always flys in the ointment! I shit you not! (((hugs)))
