Remember in November (that rhymes!) when I stayed late at work for whatever children needed care during the PTC meeting? And no one showed up?
Well, tonight I had two kids. One stayed very briefly, the other stayed from 6:30 until 8. He was a neat kid, fun to talk to. I got out some of the hands on stuff I keep in the back room and we talked about this and that while he manipulated all my little puzzles and mazes and the rainstick.
Working with kids can be noisy.
This afternoon, there was an impromptu kitchen band, they were pounding on the plastic bins with rhythm sticks, singing and dancing around. Sort of funny. I had to ask them a few times to tone it down just a little, telling them that when my eardrums were fluttering, it was too loud. :)
Anyway, got home late, don't have time to write a ton, so this will have to do.
Happy hump day. On Wednesday mornings our school starts an hour late, so we have time during morning program to do fuse beads. That takes awhile and makes the kids happy and keeps their little hands busy. Win/Win/Win... until I have to get out the iron and iron all those little projects. The smell of warm plastic just makes me smile.

Evidently one of those two kids parents had a little more to talk about.
ReplyDeleteThe parent of child #1 had a small presentation at the very beginning of the meeting and did not need to stay for the whole meeting. The other parent is always involved in every single project the PTC does... she should get a salary. :)

ReplyDeleteThey're truly interesting people. And because they haven't learned to work hard to impress, they are so genuine and curious and talkative. LOVE my job.
