Yep, that kind of nose stuff. Notice I am typing in booger green? Yum.
Better than the bright red that I had earlier on Sunday. My nose is dry, dry, dry. Bothering the hell out of me. Which means I can't leave it alone. Rolled up a tissue and poked at it until it bled. Yuck.
When I have a nosebleed, I wad up a big piece of tissue and stuff it under my upper lip on the side that's bleeding. I have no idea if it does any good, but it's what my mom and dad used to make me do when my nose was bleeding, so I always do it just in case.
Slept with my mouth open all night again. Eric, who decided to try going to sleep about 2 AM after staying up late playing a computer game, ended up leaving me to snore all alone in my big king sized bed. It was difficult to get used to sleeping next to another person all those many years ago, and when he's not next to me, I have a difficult time resting properly. Unless I'm sick. In which case I don't even notice.
:)
It's bothering me quite a bit to not have my wedding ring. I actually tried to put it on Sunday, but the two raw edges of the metal are sharp and it's not a great idea to wear it, so I reluctantly put it back in the tray I have on the kitchen table until I have time to track down a jeweler who can fix it.
I had some Target gift cards in my wallet from a couple kids and one smaller one from work, so I went online and ordered a sterling silver/cz ring to wear until I get mine fixed. It's nothing flashy or spectacular, but it will make me feel better.
Now if I can just get rid of the green monster in my nose!
So I still need to share news with you, but for some reason the little muse in my head who advises caution from time to time has asked me to wait, so wait I will.
Today I am working at my old school for part of the day. There won't be a huge number of kids, and I drew the cake shift... meaning I get all the fun parts. I'll be bringing along a couple little crafty things and am looking forward to seeing kids I don't get to see often enough.
I can't wait until the Spring Break program, it's always a lot of fun. The company packages some great curriculum and activities, making it easy for the staff, and the kids usually have a blast. In addition, we have a core staff who work most of the break programs, and the kids get that continuity in caregivers that is so important.
So no news, really. Green nose discharge, nosebleeds, gift cards and rings and work, work, work.
I'm off.
To sleep, I mean.
Not OFF off. Well, yes I am OFF off, but not right now.
Whatever.
We always folded a piece of brown paper sack and put it under our upper lip. Now I just use regular paper. I get nose bleeds from the heater. We try our best not to use it, especially at night. We just bundle up.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of that! Surely can't hurt!
ReplyDeleteWishing us both a good nights sleep.
(((hugs)))Pat
sleep well, hope you get feeling better . I am up having just had to get the furnace guy out . no heat in -30 not cool! all fixed now , and i am trying to decide whether or not to try going back to bed for a bit
ReplyDeleteI'm just recovering from a bout of the lergy, too - but I skip the tissue and just go with the naked finger up there (shhh, don't tell anyone). Hope you're on the mend now (hugs).
ReplyDeleteI actually resent sharing my bed of a night with my hubby. He works every other week away, and on those nights I can go to bed as early or as late as I choose, read 'til 3am, or get up for a pee in the middle of the night AND put the light on - bliss! The week he is here I feel guilt-tripped into keeping quiet, have to quit snoring, and stub my toe in the dark when I go to the loo!
Missed it - what happened to your ring? I understand why you want to get a replacement, though. When I was working in the cafeteria at school four years ago, I couldn't wear my wedding set. So, I went to a local jeweler I trust and got a sterling silver band, I think it was sterling silver. Probably wasn't because I think I only paid $30 or so for it. Anywho...my point is, I totally understand.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you get to work the fun stuff with the kiddos, but I'm sorry you're sick. Hopefully it begins to go away soon.
No school, but we offer a program for those parents who are still needing a place for their kids to go. Not everyone takes MLK day off, or can take off.
DeleteI don't know how many kids will be there, but I'm up for it. :)
oh, and I broke my ring at work a few days ago... broke a little piece right out of it... and a little piece out of my heart, too.
DeleteYour posts are always so....colorful. ;) Sorry about the nose issues. Glad you are getting a replacement for the ring. You have school today? PS are out today here... MLK day.
ReplyDeleteIts that time of year... My girl is in the exact place you are... cant breathe and with nose issues... I recommend lots of hot soup and hot steamy showers.... just not at the same time cause often the soup just gets too watered down!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your ring fixed soon. I'm sorry it's bothering you. I haven't worn my wedding ring since '98, only two years after I got married, because I got too fat while I was pregnant and my fingers never shrank. It's platinum or something, something about how it's made I guess it's not probably to stretch it or so I was told. Tom can't wear his either because his knuckles got big. We do try to wear other rings on our ring finger though. But generally it's not that important to us to have rings I guess! We joke about getting those ring tattoos though.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't get nose-bleeds often, but I will try this next time. I just put my finger in my mouth like you would put the paper, and I could feel how it would work. Cool not to look like a tissue breathing dragon!
ReplyDeleteHope you get better sooner rather than later. And I can't wait to hear what you're not telling us. I really hope it's not bad news.
Did you get your six inches? We got one, and are expecting more.
Hope you feel better. And, seriously, I DON'T need to know the color of the shit coming out of your nose. TMI!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a very good start of the year yet. I've been sick since the end of December. WTF?
