::snicker:: Tit Bits

Not even going to try to excuse the title.
You've seen evidence before that I was a 12 year old boy in my past life.

I wore a white shirt on Monday.
This is not something I ordinarily do, wearing a white shirt is just too much extra responsibility with all the other shit I have to do.

And as I write this on Monday evening, the shirt is actually still white.

I was shocked that I didn't drop any food on myshelf, spill anything on it at work, or put my sleeves in ink.

But I bought the shirt at Goodwill to try a new tie dye technique, so next time I feel like dyeing, it's going to change colors

I went and bought a kick-ass shredder on Monday morning. And then sat here at the table amusing myself by shredding stuff. I had a stack of credit card offers. They're all little diamond shaped confetti now. I think I like that.

I'm going to take my old shredder to work. It also makes little diamond shapes. But it's a mini shredder and takes only one or two pieces of paper at a time. Not only that, but they must be no wider than four inches.

I figure we can make leaves for art projects with it. Or some cool shapes to do mosaics. We made some mosaics a few weeks ago and the kids really liked it. I promised them we'd do it again sometime. I think it would be cool to do a fish outline and shred some shiny paper for scales to glue on, too.

I have an appointment with the surgeon on Friday morning. I plan to try to schedule surgery for Spring Break, but if that's not going to work for some reason, to see if waiting until Summer is going to harm the knee further. I'd really rather do it in summer, it would be a lot less stressful for me.  Also, I am concerned that there might be more going on in the knee than they caught on the MRI. He caught something last time that the radiologist who read it never saw.

The knee is awfully unstable.
Ugh.

I have physical therapy and a visit with the doctor who injected my knee last week today. I will have to schedule more PT, the comp doctor is sending me for PT for the still-sore lumbar region.

Confused?

I am, too. So many medical things to deal with that I finally bought a calendar to carry with me so I can keep track.

Speaking of keeping track.

I know that with work comp, there are many people who don't, for whatever reason, show up for appointments. I am not one of them. And it bugs me to be called the day before to be reminded that I have an appointment. I'm disgustingly reliable. Punctual, too. It's a character flaw, can't help it. Shut up.

So I am going to ask/tell the receptionists at both places that I would prefer they do not call me to remind me about my appointments.

It will save them a little time and me a little bit of inconvenience.

It's not that it's a big deal, it's just.. I don't like it.

The anti inflammatory that my doctor gave me is playing havoc with my intestinal tract. I need to see if I can get a different one that won't cause explosive sharts. Or just the fear of them. Which I have. The fear, I mean. Not the sharts. Or at least not yet. Shut up.

I have plans for Dr. Seuss's birthday on Wednesday. I had planned to get a red and white hat, but didn't think about it in time, so will recite, from memory, The Sneetches and The Zax. I read both of them to my own children so many times that I still have them in my brain.

I have a volume with six Dr. Seuss stories stashed in the back room at work, too. I plan to let the kids read aloud if they want to, or listen to others read Seuss if they want. Low key, no pressure. Just for fun.

This week is also Panda Monium week. I have a bunch of black and white Play-doh and a selection of panda books from the school library. We're going to make Pandas and take them home.

Okay. That's my life for today.

How's yours?

  1. So, I just spent a nice quiet 2 hours reading over all the posts I missed while we were away.. Where do I start!

Let's start with that moron mom, she totally needs a kick in the taco! Geesh...

When did they decide you needed another surgery? Keep me posted on what is going on!

As for our politician's I really HOPE AND PRAY that the Gov of WI stands by his word.. Shut the entire thing down. I looked up "collective bargaining" and let me tell you we should all be able to work a job for 2 years and have a job for life.. Even if we stop actually doing that job. We are going broke, and its a big ol' mess.

I totally love that race track. How cool that he figured it out. Its amazing that he tried so hard..

    POOR MAGGIE :((

K I have more that I want to say but the little people have started a revolution.. Something about wanting to be fed. I mean really...

  5. I can recall One fish, Two fish from memory also. On really bad nights, I would open the book, start reading, and never even turn the pages... until one day, the kids caught on. :)

I took all of my credit cards and shredded them (the actual ones... all except one)and then put them into a Christmas bulb ornament. I keep it out all year long to remind me about over spending and priorities... that, and it looks totally cool and shiny. :)

  6. Panda Monium week...when I first read that, I thought you couldn't spell pandamonium...or that i couldn't spell it.
Sorry about your sharts, but now you've introduced me to a new word. I wonder if my nursing teachers would object to me using it in my charting...
