I'm really pissed off.
Last year about this time,(not too long after my shoulder surgery, actually... while we were temporarily without health benefits from my grateful company and without my paycheck) Eric received a salary cut of 15%.
Merry Fucking Christmas.
That money was never reinstated.
Times are tough. I get that.
This past week, they cut his salary again. By 30%. Thirty. Fucking. Percent.
We will be fine. We always are. And I know it.
But that doesn't stop me from being pissed off.
Living in that van down by the river is starting to look like a good idea. Would definitely cut down on the mortgage and the regular bills, which have NOT been cut by 30%.
They just keep growing.
And our state just re elected a tax the fuck out of everyone asshole as governor. Two counties voted for him. The less populated counties in our state did not.
Gah.
On the good side, the rest of state legislators are evenly balanced... at least with regards to political party. I do not know about their personal lives.
So he may have a harder time stealing from us, but somehow, I don't think he's going to help my family's bottom line.
Or my attitude.
Sorry to read that. Maths is not my thing but does that means that Eric is almost on half the salary he was on originally? That sucks!

ReplyDeleteI'd say "come move in with us", except then neither one of you would have jobs, my cats would be pissed off about the dog, and my neighbor would be berserk that we appeared to have borders (actually that last bit makes it attractive).
Sorry to hear this hon. I completely understand where you're coming from, we've had similar here, only my JOB downsized me. Unemployment helps, but there just aren't any others here that are going to pay near what I was making to begin with. It's difficult to try and budget for bills that you were tight on before with even less. My friend and her hubby were both cut between the two of them almost 50% of what they were making previously... it's not getting any better with the new clowns this state re-elected and elected. Keep your chin up... and keep fighting that's about all you can do for now.

Hubby was laid of at the end of sumer last year, two college degrees, and NO ONE would hire him until March of this year (and we won't even talk about who might hire me after eight years of staying home with the kiddos!) He's employed, but making 50% percent of what he was making at his old job. So now we are in a holding pattern, trying to figure out if we are gonna have a house next month :(
