Getting everyone ready for their trip.
Well, technically, what I'm really doing is just staying out of the way so everyone can get ready for their little jaunt to the South.
Everyone has new clothes and boarding passes and cell phones charged and little sample sized toothpastes and shampoos and deodorants.
Well, everyone except me.
I have a new bed rest to sit against.
My mom called me on Sunday to express her worries over me staying alone when Eric and the kids leave, and I spent some time going over every contingency and plan I have.
You know me, I'm a planner. So I plan for things that probably won't happen in a million years and decide what I'm going to do when the situation arises.
I have great support and people I can call on if needed. I'm also not a total invalid now. I can get around, I can cook, I can drive.
I even have a girlfriend day planned with Tami.
I hope I was able to set my mom's mind at ease.
And I am totally charmed and feel so loved that my mom, who will be 71 in a few days still worries about me and wants to take care of me.
Really. How sweet is that?
That's absolutely great that your mum still worries about you. I think I'll probably be that way with my kids (if I live that long!)

ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful feeling. Lucky, blessed you. Let us hear about your girlfriend day!! I need one of those SO BAD!
ReplyDeleteThat is sweet. I'm glad you've got plans A, B, and C. I hope you don't have to use them all, but I'm glad they're in place.
ReplyDeleteMy mom would worry the same way, and then she would hear my contingency plans and say something like "I knew you'd have it all worked out." I hope your own 'I'm not in charge of anyone but me' vacation goes great.
ReplyDeleteAren't moms the best? :)
ReplyDeleteMotherhood never stops... even at 71. Enjoy every minute of it! -J
