Eric and I have a weekly date. We compile a grocery list and go to the store together once a week. It's usually either Friday night or Sunday afternoon if we can wait that long.
This weekend, he was working both days. The company is putting in a display at the Spring Home and Garden show. We're all hoping this will get them some business. You may have heard about it on the news, or perhaps on a blog you read, but if not, you heard it here first... the economy sucks.
And gosh golly color me surprised, giving an assload of my tax money to the filthy criminals who got us in this mess in the first place HAS NOT WORKED.
You'd think someone would consult an economist before committing stupidity of that magnitude, but alas.
Anyway. Don't want to go off in that direction. It's not like it's a surprise that every elected politician, no matter which party, is a money grubbing butt sniffer with nothing but larceny in his or her heart.
Back to the grocery store.
We go every week. It's our date. We chat about this and that, figure out what we want to eat, hold hands, laugh a lot... it's always nice for us to be together, even if it's just shopping.
But he's been working all weekend long, and we haven't even seen him. Here it is, almost 6:00 PM Sunday night and he's not home yet.
So a little bit ago, Lyssa and I went to the store together.
We had fun. We looked at some of the interesting things people were wearing and giggled a little, we picked up a few groceries and came home.
Now why did I tell you all that? I don't know.
The real point of this story is that grocery shopping is a lot less expensive when I don't take Eric with me.
:-D
I NEVER take my husband with me! I'd rather go with my 4 children and perhaps even the neighbors children before I take my husband!!
ReplyDeleteYou may need to find a new date spot! ( :
Too bad you missed your date , but I agree shopping is much less expensive without the hubby . But I like it when mine comes with me too , we also make an afternoon of it and usually do lunch or supper out as well
ReplyDeleteI agree. Definitely less expensive w/o the hubby along, but it's also more fun and it's time spent alone with him, so it's worth it. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you and Lyssa had fun!
Kate and I went to the mall today, bra shopping. (fun when you are a size hard-to-fit) While this is a pretty upscale mall, we saw someone that made Kate comment, "I wish we were in Walmart!" Yes, this guy would have been perfect People of Walmart fodder, but, alas, we were in the mall!
ReplyDeleteI keep saying I'm going to bring my camera everywhere I go. And I keep not doing it. And keep missing opportunities.
ReplyDeleteI prefer shopping with Eric even though it costs us extra money. He's worth it.
:)
