Music, doctors and chairs

I bought an expensive damn MP3 player, hm, must be about two years ago. I had lots of my own kinds of music on it.

Eric didn't have a player of his own and was wishing for some music while doing yard work, so I loaned it to him one day.

He liked it so much that he sort of appropriated it. It didn't matter, I wasn't using it much. He added more music. One day, he found he was running out of room, so I told him to just delete my playlists (they were in the computer anyway) and add whatever he wanted.

I don't know what he did, but when he hooked it up to the computer to get rid of my music, he somehow deleted the drivers and the player would no longer sync.

Or play.

When we plugged it into the computer, it showed the memory being half full, but we couldn't access anything that was on it, and could not clear it. There is no reset button.

::sigh::

So I got this wild idea Thursday to dig it out of the drawer in the desk (don't know why we didn't just throw it away, probably because we NEVER throw anything away...hence the cluttered and crowded house we live in...) but I digress.

I tried hooking it up to my laptop, and this funny window came up asking me if I wanted to format. I clicked yes. And the computer told me that I'd be deleting everything on the player, did I want to continue?

Well, why not? Effing thing doesn't work anyway, right?

So I clicked yes.

And the player cleared!

So I tried adding some music to it.

It works.

I know that's not a big deal to most people, but since everyone in my family has different tastes in music and mostly, I just don't bother listening to anything since no one likes hearing it,  it's a very big deal to me.

And now I have music tucked into my backpack for the next 200 times I'm waiting in a doctor's office.

Also on Thursday, I called to find out the status of the report from my IME. They told me that it had been completed on the 27th (so much for five days... the exam was on the 16th.) and probably mailed on the 28th. So it should be on the desk of my claims adjuster by today or Monday. After that (assuming the compensation insurance agrees with the findings of the comp doctor, the radiologist who read the MRI and my orthopedic surgeon who all agree I need surgery to repair my shoulder), the next step is scheduling the MRI for the surgeon to get a better contrasted view, and then... surgery.

::gulp::

We bought a recliner last weekend. After I stick it outside to air out a bit today, it should be okay. Some sort of potpourri or shampoo smell in it... it's fairly strong, especially when one is hypersensitive to smells during certain times of the month.

Like me. Like now.

When I have been hit with another damn migraine. This one was a real screamer.

One of the ones that makes me incoherent and sick and dizzy and shaky.

By the time this posts on Friday morning, I'll probably be on my 3rd half dose of medication. Expensive stuff.

But my new insurance kicks in on Sunday. And I'll have some prescription coverage.

Things are looking up.
