Next Weekend

At this time, I'll be hanging out with some of 'my' girls.

We're going to a council property on Saturday, coming home on Sunday.

We're carpooling.
Two moms have volunteered to bring their vans. The rest of us are contributing gas money.

I'm not driving, so even if I get a headache, I won't be responsible for getting people home safely. After the horrible headache I got on our last troop trip, I'm happy about this.

It's like having an anvil hanging over my head, held only by a piece of thread. It's not a question of if it will fall, but when it will. It may not happen on the trip since I'm at a 'safe' spot hormonally, but a big migraine once a month is almost inevitable.

This is an improvement, though. Ever since I totally gave up soda, I'm not getting a bad one every 10 days or so.
I have to find my prescription for Imitrex today so I can go get it filled tomorrow.

Just in case.

I don't want one of the last trips with my girls to be ruined by my stupid head.

Since we're only going for one night, I only need stuff for one project. I haven't decided which project to do yet, but I'm thinking about it. I have enough stuff to open a craft store, so probably won't have to buy anything.

The downside to not meeting weekly is that I'm doing a lot of thinking and planning for the excursion all by myself without the input of all the girls. My own girl doesn't really have much to say about it, she just likes to go. Half the time she doesn't participate in whatever project we're doing anyway.

She brings along her drawing materials and hangs out with everyone instead, which is fine with me.

We have another girl who isn't always into what we're doing, too. Also fine.

I like that they can choose and not be pressured or feel like they need to conform. Weird, I know. I oughta make them all march in a line and do everything I say. ;)

It's a unique group and I think the girls have had a good time together.

I am still feeling bad about our troop disbanding. It's a good time for it to happen, all things considered, and I'm okay with it in general, but it's been such a big part of my life for so long that I feel a little sad.

What's made it so good? I don't know. Is it the amazing girls who have been a part of it? The incredible, supportive parents?

My guess is a combination of both.

I hate saying goodbye to everyone. You know, there are always promises to keep in touch and all that, but in reality, that's not usually what happens.

I want this trip and the one next month to be good memories for everyone. My goal today is to plan a good one.

I'm off.

  1. Hey Girl! I love your new header! Thank you much for taking time to think of me. I 'm glad you seem to have your head aches down better than you use to. I really hope your nest 2 trips are wonderful! I know what you mean. I was really sad when I dropped out of boy scouts, but now I see it was for the best.
    Good luck sweetie!
    Hope to see you soon!
