I'm torn...

I could use more hours at work. I've logged, hmm.. fourteen hours so far?

Sunshine tells me that I'll be getting more as people take time off for vacations and other things.

I scheduled quite a bit of time off myself, too. The trip to Butthump, oral surgery, Girl Scout expeditions, and a day here or there that I just arbitrarily listed as times I'd be unavailable sort of cut my hours, too.

Last summer, there weren't very many people available to work, and I ended up working far more than I wanted to. This summer, just about everyone wanted to work. Since I am not a site director ( I DO NOT want to be one. No. Thanks. No no no no no no.) my hours aren't a priority. Also, we don't have as many kids this summer. The economy sucks if you hadn't noticed, and child care is not cheap.

So I have had time to clean the house a bit, make meals, keep up with the laundry, do a bit of decluttering, hang out with the kids, shop a little and relax. I appreciate it. But I could really use a bit of extra money.

So I'm torn between wanting things to stay this way and spend a little less, or get more hours at work.

It also gives me an excuse to post this video.

  1. I was thinking similar thoughts yesterday. I got reprimanded by a client for something that wasn't my fault and I wondered why I go through this crap. Then I remembered, the money. Not working sounds so nice. Not getting a paycheck doesn't sound as nice. We need to figure out a way to not work, but still get the paycheck!

  2. That was great.
I feel your pain. I just quit my job and love it. I have however taken a substitute teaching position part time. Money feeds the kids. And, I have tons of kids!
