I know you can't hear it, but that's a choir warm-up exercise.
One repeats that in many different keys as part of the whole experience. Scintillating.
It's also because this post is about, well, me.
Monday the 10th of March, choir starts up again. I'm really looking forward to singing. I did not sing during winter term, because I simply don't have time for 4 to 6 performances as well as rehearsals when I'm so busy that time of year.
The Spring term has one concert performance. I can do that.
The singers in the choir are capable of producing a great sound, and many of them are very accomplished singers. I wish the director would demand a little more precision, (can't stand it when a phrase of a song ends in 's' and you hear sssssssssss, for example,) but it's a nice group of people and they occasionally hit it just right and you can feel the music. I get goosebumps.
And speaking of goosebumps, starting April 1st, I will be taking a water aerobics class. It's going to put me an hour past my bedtime on Tuesday and Thursday nights until June 1st, but I think it will be good. I definitely like the no-impact idea, my left heel is pretty sore these days with all the exercising I do.
My good friend Tami has agreed to sign up with me. We're hoping that there will be at least one 400 lb woman in the class, placed there solely to make us feel good, but it's not very likely, is it?
I will have to wear a swimsuit. I do actually own one, but I really have no idea why, since I don't go swimming.
Well, off to wake up my exercise partner. She told me last night that she'd need 45 minutes to get ready today, and that's now.
I have to be at work quite early on Wednesdays, which means all the other things that need to be done also must be done early. I haven't seen the Baroness von Schmelly at Curves lately, so I'm timing it just about right, I think.
Now to decide what I'm going to listen to this morning.
Have a good day.
I just wanted to tell you that in the last few weeks, every time I go out to the grocery store or somewhere and pass someone really perfumey, I think of you :) It IS an assault on the senses when you feel as if you have to hold your breath to walk past someone (and several steps beyond them, in some cases).
ReplyDeleteIf you enjoy your water aerobics class, you might ask around to find out the hours of some local indoor pools. I used to go to the pool at a local college very early in the morning to swim because nobody else was there at that time.
good for you for working out. if it helps any, just realize that none of the people in that class have good self images, its like completely unheard of in our society. so they are jealous of you because of your hair or smile or whatever versus whatever you are jealous of them for. trust me.
ReplyDeleteI love to sing, would love to join a choir. Maybe when the babies get older.Thankyou for your post yesterday.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I wish I good do more water exercising. We don't any place here close and during the summer, my little pool is full of kids.
