You've heard the comment about running with scissors, right? Until yesterday, I had never actually seen anyone run with them. One of 'my' kids ran toward me with his scissors open and in his hand to tell me about how one of the other kids had aggravated him. I grabbed the open scissors and stopped him before any damage was done. I explained that running with scissors was not a good idea, because you could really get hurt that way.
But poor Evan has had a bad week with scissors. Last Thursday in class, one of his friends decided to give Evan a haircut. The whole front of his hair got chopped off. It looks very strange. Mom took him to get it trimmed/buzzed to hide some of the damage, but it's pretty noticeable. I'm wondering what the teacher was doing while the amateur stylist was at work. From the looks of it, he spent a good minute or so getting it just right.
Then, yesterday afternoon, just before he came to our program, our guy dropped his scissors in class. As he grabbed them from the floor, another kid walked by and stepped on Evan's hand. He showed up with an ice pack.
I'm thinking about hiding the scissors today.
