Today is our 45th wedding anniversary.
I've been asked so many times what the 'secret' is, but there isn't a secret at all.
It's mostly picking up the slack when the other person can't do whatever it is that needs doing and being each other's biggest fan and strongest supporter.
Another secret? Realizing about 10 years in that by now, no one else would want either one of us.
::snort::
Huh.
Time goes so fast.
Take advantage of the time you have with people you love.
I would marry him again.

We have settled into the 'comfy shoe' aspect of marriage. We mostly get along, we often have fun and neither of us could imagine living without the other.
ReplyDeleteYep. We're at an age where that's a thing we worry about now. One of us having to go on without the other one. We do get along most of the time, though.
DeleteWe had a few tumultuous years but Mark wouldn't give up. Lucky me he didn't. We have been married 44 years. His first marriage, my second. We get along quite well.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have my biggest fan around most of the time. :)
DeleteFinding that person isn't always easy and not everyone does. I feel fortunate. Sounds like you are, too.
