It's that time of year again... a small gift for the people at my school who've been so welcoming and nice to me. They're a part of the success of my program.
Last year I made tie dyed socks for everyone including the custodians and the kitchen magician.
This year I decided the little planets the kids made to take home would be a fun idea for the grown ups, too, so I made a dozen of them. The lit up photo isn't great, but you get the idea. The unlit one... I tried to place the planets in the same position so you could make a comparison of what they look like turned off and turned on.
I'll be making little cards for school staff, something like 'I love being part of the galaxy at Secret Elementary'.
I don't always have time to make whatever the kids are making, at least not while I'm at work, but I used some of my prep time to make these at home.
I made one for my manager and one for my assistant, too.
It's been a stressful year, and although I haven't lost my love for the work, I am very glad to be almost finished.
Now I have to figure out a way to wrap them and make a few cards.
I had a hard time photographing them so they'd look as good in photos as they do in person. Didn't quite get it. But enlarge the one that isn't lit up to get a better idea of how the colors mixed. It was actually a fun project. I'm considering making more of them.
