Ticktock...

Isn't it about time you got a new clock?

I found a new clock on Etsy, (pictured here hanging on my kitchen wall) although there are several versions available on Amazon.

This particular clock is well made, it's on a heavy piece of glass and is very nice. The one thing I don't like is that it ticks loudly, so I'm planning to replace the clock part with a silent mechanism.

I particularly enjoyed the description of the one at this link.
It's worth clicking.
Seriously.
LOL
Buuutt... in case you don't want to click on it, I copied and pasted it here. I get a kick out of things that are translated this way.

About this item

  • This funny clock.
  • "Jesus, Would you look at the time" novelty pun wall clock is a fully functioning sweary funny gift for those who enjoy Jesus and are always late. Would make a good Easter Gift.
  • This frustrated is commonly heard in the morning when getting out of the house, often with a bunch of kids who are dragging their feet.
  • In our punning novelty clock, Jesus is late again. He seems distracted as if in with God, a bit like a kid looking their phone when they should be getting their shoes on. Instead of getting himself down to in time for he's muttering again.
  • So of course the first thing you are going to is, "Jesus, would you look at the time" in both cases.

I'm sorry for all the garbage you have been through. I'm glad you are getting some amusement and hopefully a good job as well. Take care of you and yours and hope to read some updates soon-ish.

    1. Meh, it's life. I'm sorry because I grow barnacles and it's always painful to be stuck, ya know? But things will work out, they always do. I have training for my new job on Friday and all of next week. Apparently doing an admin type job requires me to know more than how to tie shoes and break up an argument while looking at someone's loose tooth and trying to figure out what's for snack while answering the phone and picking up toys.

  4. That clock is funny. I had to have Tony get a new smoke detector tonight as we only have one on the main floor. I dropped the old one in the toilet. Apparently, it didn't like it, because it kept saying "testing" in English and Japanese. Weird. Hubs got one that has a ten-year lithium battery in it that's "Guaranteed to last ten years". Unless of course, you drop it in the toilet.

    1. It seems like there should be a story about how you ended up dropping it in the toilet in the first place. Like, what were you doing? Just carrying it around?

My own smoke detector story is three years old right about now. It was about three years ago that we sent Lyssa and Mason smoke detectors, which they installed a couple days before the house burned down.

    2. I remember that. So scary. So Youngest was cooking steak. The alarm went off. He took it down and stuck it in between the pile of clean folded towels on the couch. I had no idea, came home, grabbed the towels to restock the bathroom (over the toilet) and PLOP!!! into the toilet it fell. Logical when it's explained out, hysterical when it's not. ;)

    3. LOL... yeah, makes sense. Our toilet is always closed 'cause Lyssa doesn't want Pixel drinking out of the toilet bowl.
The 50 bucks we spent on smoke detectors is still the best money we ever spent. The fire marshal told them that the way the house was laid out and the way the fire traveled, they would have died from smoke inhalation without ever waking up.
