I've mentioned the unique decorating ideas of my neighbor across the street a couple times.
I'd love to know what she's smoking for inspiration.
This past weekend, Eric and I noticed that she still has ideas to share.
Sitting in front of her house are Mary and Joseph next to a really big basket of eggs.
I shit you not.
Due to too much sacramental wine or possibly the ferocious wind we have out here in East County, Joseph has face-planted next to the egg basket.

I shared this photo with Lyssa.
She said, "Mary the Ovipositor doesn't have the same ring as Mary Magdalene, but hey, points for effort!"
Indeed.
(No, she doesn't know which Mary is which, she wasn't raised fundy...)
She also asked if this means Jesus is related to the Easter Bunny. Good question, and one for which I do not have an answer.
I wondered if it meant Jesus was part of a litter.
Mary and Joseph are out there year round?
ReplyDeleteThis would be the only time an HOA would be welcomed. But then again, so be it for crazy neighbors.
Well, this is the first time I've seen them out there after December, but I admit I'm enjoying the hell out of it. If you didn't read the link, this isn't the first oddity. She has decoy ducks on the fence at even intervals, cookie jars out there under the bushes and about 200 flower pots all lined up with plants in them. Never boring.
DeleteOh my goodness, that is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteWe've lived across from them for more than 20 years. We wave at each other in passing, that's it. I don't actually know any of my neighbors and most of them I wouldn't recognize in the grocery store or whatever. So I don't know what's behind this interesting display. I was pretty excited to get the photo, though. lol
