More Carols

The kids are in the holiday spirit.
They are constantly singing bits and pieces of the seasonal songs.

But of course the kid variety is a little different.

First, Tracy was singing Deck The Halls.

Her version went like this, "Deck the halls with bells of holly..."

I don't ordinarily correct their grammar or errors, but music is a different animal.

So I said, "It's boughs."

She said, "No, it's bells. You know, like Christmas Bells? You probably didn't hear the real version."

I gave up immediately, it was just too funny.
There's no harm in letting her think she's right.
And it's cute, too.

A little later, Hayden was sitting at my table working on a picture.
Humming the same song Tracy had been singing earlier.

Then he sang,"Deck the balls with bows of folly." He said 'bows' like 'there are three bows in her hair'.
Don't ask me, I have no idea.

He happily did the fa la la la la part, then before I had a chance to even smile, his next line was "He's the reason for the jar-ee," and he fa la la'd some more.

Stevie was in on the act later, lying on a rug, building a car out of LEGO, singing Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.

I didn't catch the first part of his song, but I had to smile over, "You would even say hello."

And our little Terra was pointing out different items on a piece of paper that came in one of our little craft kits.

"Issa so-man. Issa weef. Issa kisses tree."
(snowman, wreath, christmas tree).

She talks like she's about four. I'm not sure if she's just delayed a bit or will need speech therapy. But I have to admit that I find it adorable.

All of them, really.
