Once again...

Hayden forgets to go to the bathroom sometimes. So does James.
According to his mom, they sometimes don't even notice they have to go.

Either way, it means that they occasionally have to change clothes.
The problem is that I don't have extra clothing. Now if they were my kids and I knew there were some issues, I'd send extra clothing.

Hayden had a little accident on Monday afternoon. He went to the bathroom and then came out, embarrassed to tell me, "I got a little poop in my pants and I don't know what to do!"

It's always my number one priority to make sure that no one notices when this sort of thing happens. I don't know about you, but I remember at least three different kids while growing up who'd had an accident as small kids and were teased about it forever. I don't want anyone to know what's going on because I don't like kids to be embarrassed.

So I sent him back up the stairs to the bathroom and told him to wait there for a minute, then I called Cathy in the office which is up the 2nd flight of stairs outside the bathroom.

"Uh, Hayden had a little issue (again) and I was hoping you were still here so he could get some extra clothes."

She laughed gently, said, "Aww, poor little guy. I was just leaving, you barely caught me. Send him up."

I did. He was in the office for a good 25 minutes, 20 minutes past when Cathy was supposed to go home.

When his mom came to get him, I took her aside and told her what had happened. Asked if it would be possible to get some extra clothing just in case, since they seem to forget to go to the bathroom.

The next morning each of the boys brought me a pair of pants and a pair of underwear. I have them stored in our little space in the staff lounge.

I brought in a little package of dark chocolate covered cherries the next morning and gave them to her, along with a card.

She's done this two other times, once with Hayden and once with James, and now a second time for Hayden.

She said she got a huge laugh out of the card.
What do you think, do you like it? :-D

    1. She got a HUGE kick out of it. So it was worth the time it took me to draw.

    1. It makes me feel good when something I draw makes people smile. The people at my school have been so nice to work with, I'm very grateful. Leaving my old job was wrenching and I'll always dislike the stupid cow who ruined it all for me. Those people were my friends and the school was a second home. But I have a new home now. :)
