This Week in Humor

More than one funny this week.

First, Colin was singing to himself on Monday morning while he was building some sort of contraption with some k'nex.
"Blinded by the lii-ght, wake up like a dude, screamin' in the night..."

Made me laugh. I tried not to laugh where he could see me, though.

Then Kenzie and Dane have had a game going for about a week. Not sure what the whole thing is about, it involves the doll house, some little stuffed animals, the LEGO minifigures and matchbox cars. They're married, or their characters are. And they had some sort of argument in the game, and Kenzie's dog said to Dane's cat, "I divorce you. And I want my dragon back."

Dane said, "I thought it was my dragon. I bought it."

Kenzie said, "That's what you'd think, yeah. But in a divorce, the girl gets whatever she wants!"

And before you ask, her parents are not divorced. When I said, "Kenzie, where did you get that idea?" she answered, "I watch a lot of television. And movies."

::snicker::

Then, during breakfast, the three oldest kids were discussing personal growth. All the kids are taller at the end of the school year than they were at the beginning. Dane and Kenzie both commented about growth and themselves, using the word puberty. Colin, not to be outdone, bragged that he's now wearing deodorant.

"I had to," he told us earnestly. "My armpits smelled like," and here he paused, searching for exactly the right word. "Firecrackers," he finally said. "And..." he paused again. "Beef jerky."

Haha.

They're always funny, especially when they're really not meaning to be.

Best one was this afternoon, though.
I have a big bin of beanie babies, Lyssa donated hers to my program years ago, and they're one of the things I brought with me, knowing that that ignorant cow didn't like stuffed animals and probably would just toss them.

They were playing with the bulldog.
And they've named him Armpit.
::snicker::

  2. oh how I have missed your blog! Thank you for your kind words regarding Johnny. I laughed about the song lyric, we used to screw it up here too, far far worse in fact! how we could get what we got out of "revved up like a deuce another runner in the night" , I have no idea. Honestly , the lyric itself barely makes sense lol

    1. I started blogging in 2005, a year after I started the job working with kids. I have so many things written down. I'm glad I wrote them, I would never be able to remember all of it otherwise. And I wish I'd written more when my kids were younger. They were so fun. And they grew up on me. ::sigh::
