We had our weekly date Saturday.
Nothing too glamorous, we went to McDonald's and the grocery store.
Oh and picked up the mail and stopped by the bottle drop and dropped off our bottles/cans. They're worth a dime each now when we turn them in. It's not really a money maker since we pay that dime every time we buy one, but we get it back. Or that's how it's supposed to work.
But every few months I scan my little key tag at the grocery store and get 30 to 40 dollars off our grocery tab for the week. So we bag them in their special green bags and drop them off occasionally.
While we were shopping, I picked up some canned mushrooms.
They were stacked three high on the very top shelf. And while I was trying to get some, the top one fell off the stack and landed on my head.
I have had experiences that were more fun/less painful.
Funny, that 'can do' attitude can cause me pain in other ways, too.
If I manage it, I'll tell you all about my latest work-go-round later today. Or tomorrow.
Occasionally a vertically challenged lady will ask me to get something from a high shelf. I must appear harmless (true, drat). As I hand the item to her I usually say, "You just want me for my body".

I used to ask tall people to get stuff for me from the top shelf......these days I just stand on the lower shelf and get it myself. I guess I shop when all the tall folks are home eating...ha ha
ReplyDeleteMy biggest gripe while grocery shopping is the static, which is an issue here with the dry air ~ it's so irritating! Maybe I'll start carrying a dryer sheet in my pocket, see if that helps!
I hate static, too.
DeleteWhen it's super windy here for days on end, the static charge builds up so much that I can see a huge spark jump from the car when I put the key in the door.
'They' say that's one of the reasons we can't pump our own gas in Oregon, that static that builds up.
A lot of people complain about not being able to pump their own, but I appreciate the hell out of it. I don't have to get out in the wind and the rain and the cold and the rain and the precipitation and the drizzle to put gas in my car.
