This was another fun little project. It was simple enough for the
smaller people but still enjoyable for the older kids. Dane did not make
one, he rarely makes a craft, he thinks he's too cool for 'kid stuff',
but sometimes I catch him watching closely as the kids are working. I
don't say anything to him, but I make a craft with the bunch when I can,
reasoning that if he sees an adult making something and having fun with
it, that he might relax a little and bring out his own sense of fun.
Billy didn't like the way the backbone looked, so he chose not to add a spine to his project. Kenzie didn't like that idea, she told him that the 'skeleton's head won't stay on', but I reminded her that it was going to be attached with glue and that Billy was allowed to do the project his way.
I am really enjoying the designated space. Yes, it's small. But it looks SO nice with everyone's projects all over the place and all the colorful things I've added to the walls.
So get out your Q-tips. Have a little fun.

Ha, I like them a lot! Thought it was funny to see one without the backbone, but yes, skeletons would fall apart anyway, muscle or glue will hold them up, whatever way they're created (or almost). Cool projects going on there. Am really glad you're happy with your space. Must be so nice to be able to just leave it the way it is all the time and not having to put everything away!
ReplyDeleteIdea from me: I have little black paper bats sticking to my window: the eyes are tiny pieces of white "buddies" (the sticky thing that will help you stick stuff to the wall for example, not sure you call it the same?). We also have black nylon stocking bats to hang in the tree outside: stuff stocking foot (with other nylon stocking of anything else) add to pins as eyes and a pair of wings. Hang upside down (the knot to close the stocking are the feet in our garden). I also had a ghost: should take pictures and send by email, sorry for way too long comment!
Those sound like fun projects. We call the sticky stuff putty. What do you make the bat wings out of?
DeleteI always have so many ideas and run out of time. :) Tomorrow morning our school doesn't start until nearly 10 AM. That's every Monday. ::sigh::. So we are going to make paper bag haunted houses. The kids are excited.

ReplyDeleteI love their enthusiasm. Apparently my predecessor(s) didn't really do a whole lot of projects with them. They are enjoying all the creative pursuits available. So am I. :)
