Too good not to share.
This weekend I learned a little more about the person Fluffy hired to take over my old program. I've heard from more than one parent now.
Some of them have just taken their children out because I'm no longer there. I had more than one child attending solely because they wanted to be there. Jennifer had been coming after school for three years because her parents wanted her with me. Her dad was actually home after work in time to meet her school bus, but she enjoyed being in the program so much they continued to pay for her to go.
One of the other parents had her two sons in my program and decided that she didn't want her kids with the new person after she met her and talked with her a little. She said that she was at the school this week one morning and took a peek into the cafeteria. It was 10 minutes before school was to start and there were nine kids. Compare that to the 24 I had before school. Makes ya wonder.
So about the person they hired to replace me.
I've heard she's 'nice enough' but clueless.
There's a good reason for that. She's been a nanny. That's it. The largest group she's cared for consisted of three children. And Fluffy hired her to take over one of the four largest programs in our area.
The thriving program *I* built.
I haven't been contacting people and asking questions about the program, by the way. These are people who have emailed or otherwise contacted me.
I wonder if anyone at corporate or anywhere else is paying attention.
I guess it doesn't really matter, does it?

ReplyDeleteI did. Stuck my neck out and tried to fix, not realizing that Fluffy is mentally ill. And not only mentally ill, a fucking cow on top of that. If I prayed, I'd still be praying for a meteor to take her out. I'm not inhumane, though. In her sleep.
DeleteUGH. Rotten big corporations only pay attention if their bottom line is effected. If enough kids drop from the program they'll have to re-evaluate the situation and have to acknowledge you and your contributions to the program. Likely you'll never hear of it tho.

I have really great kids. Super nice. And the program is growing, too. Started out with four in the mornings, we're up to 8 now.

The school staff is very nice so far. One of the K teachers is a little, um, overbearing with kids, but you know, I am not in her shoes and don't have to deal with the same stuff she does. So can't judge. Or not too much. :)
