Holy Cow all that Blood!

Just guessing... but I'd say since I bled copiously when the doctor took the stitches out they maaaay have been left in too long. I was ready to have them out a week ago. The one on the inner part of the ankle was pulling and it was a pain to move the foot with any sort of freedom at all.

Now I can move it without that pulling, but the bandage was soaked and I had to replace it. It has tapered off now. Yes, I am back on Excedrin. Yes, I know that probably had something to do with the amount of time it bled. But it shouldn't really have bled at all. I think the skin had grown around the stitches.

Also, it hurt like fuck to have them taken out. I did not kick him with my other foot. But I wanted to.

I tell ya, I don't know about this guy. He seems nice enough. And Dr. Dirtball says he's a 'very good' surgeon and that she would go to him if she needed foot surgery. Likewise my podiatrist. He said that he would have 'no hesitation' in seeing him if he had his own foot issues.

But he's rather... odd. Socially awkward, ends up shaking my hand three or four times every time I go in. If I had to rate him on a scale of one to 10 as to how well he really listens, I am not sure I could. I don't get the impression that he isn't listening... but I don't get the impression that he is, either. Hard to describe. I don't dislike him. But I have had a hard time relating to him.

I told him today that I am not sure anyone understands where the pain was in the first place. That the ankle has locked up on me twice since surgery. And that it worries me, I don't want to continue with that. That was the whole purpose of going through this in the first place.

He told me that the drilling would probably help with that but that it takes awhile. There are no instant results. He said that I might continue to have 'some issues' for a few months.

He sort of neglected to mention that before slicing and dicing me.

But the stitches are out. And that has improved the pain level considerably. I'm surprised at how much difference it makes.

Things are going to get better. Right?
