Haha... nothing to do with the Kama Sutra. Not that there's anything
wrong with that. :) Just, you know, adults can color pictures, too.
For my birthday on Friday, I gifted myself a copy of Johanna Basford's Lost Ocean.
I usually use her books to inspire me to draw, as I don't really like coloring in them. I don't like the paper (off white and annoyingly rough textured) and I don't like trying to keep the book open. A spiral binding would probably be a better choice, but no one consulted me. As usual. No one consults me about anything. :-D
Last night while we watched Ex Machina, (and wow, that was a strange movie but very compelling) I drew. Then I colored. And as usual, the scan isn't the same as the picture. The actual picture is MUCH brighter. Love my little toys... colored pencils and pens and the beautiful linen paper. My scanner? Well, there's a reason it was cheap. The little jellyfish at the right is actually fluorescent colors, one of my tri-tone pencils did that. Apparently that doesn't scan? Ah well. Enough whining. I haven't done ANYTHING today and it's already 1. Meaning that I have approximately eight hours to do everything I'd planned for the weekend. Huh. I'd have to guess that it's not going to happen. At least not all of it. But I am making some fudge and some OH. MY. GOD. Bars.
What are you up to? Hope it doesn't involve anything embarrassing.

I'm seeing more and more talk about the adult coloring books. Good therapy.
ReplyDeleteGreat therapy and just fun. I have always enjoyed coloring. Eric and I used to color together now and then when we were younger married people. Now he just indulges my whim and tells me I'm doing a good job. :)
DeleteMy latest is to draw and tangle around various profanities. It's a kick.
