:::yawn::

Up half the damn night again. It's hot and difficult to stay asleep. I was exhausted when we went to bed about 11 last night. I figured I'd sleep like a brick since I had been unsuccessful in taking a nap during the afternoon.

I fell asleep almost immediately, only to be awakened about a half hour later by someone driving a little car up the street, revving the engine and squealing the tires.

Asshole.

So I got up and went to the bathroom (may as well, at my age I have to get up at least once every night anyway) and back to bed.

As soon as I'd drifted off again, Eric woke me up twitching his legs. I can usually sleep through it, but not this time. He didn't wake up, just turned over and continued sleeping. I was wide awake. ::sigh::

So I got up for awhile. Grabbed a bottle of water and opened up my computer. Owlishly read some headlines and played Rat Poker for about half an hour.

Checked in on Facebook. Found this, which made me laugh.

But now I'm really sleepy. I got up early so we can go visit the Goodwill bins out by the airport. Hasn't been open very long, so it may not be quite as filthy as the other ones we've been to. Not that it really matters, that's why they invented soap.

But soap is a funny thing.
I was thinking about it this morning, as a matter of fact.

I took a shower about 20 minutes ago. I've been showering every morning for about 29 years now (didn't have a shower in the places I lived before that) and you'd think the process would be ingrained.

After I've washed my hair and conditioned it, the rest of the shower is basically a two step process unless one is planning to use the vajazzler. ;)

Step one, soap up
Step two, rinse.

I got out of the shower and started to dry off, only to realize that I had skipped step two. Seriously. I had soap in several places. I guess I wasn't quite awake when I got into the shower. I had to adjust the water all over again, get back into the shower and complete the obviously-too-complicated-for-my-tired-brain process.

Sheesh.

So I got up early for our weekly shopping stuff because it's going to be hot again today and even though the car is air conditioned, the stores are air conditioned, and it stays cool in the house for most of the day with the little AC unit we have in the living room, I don't like going out in the heat. I spent the last three days outdoors on our playground, dyeing shirts and wishing for fall.

What are YOU doing this weekend?

  1. Spent most of the day looking for a big enough knee brace for my right knee. Haven't had an arthritis flare up for a few years but it is back with a vengeance. Growing up as a ranch kid has left me with oversized calves and thighs. So far, haven't found one big enough. Off in the morning to find some tart cherry juice.

    1. I found a knee brace on Amazon that looked like it might work well for me. Can't stand neoprene, I don't want to sweat, I just want some support. Ordered the XL and it's so small it won't even work on my ARM. No shit. I am guessing it was made by Asians FOR Asians. Good luck with the brace.

  2. You are braver than I am, I don't even venture outside! Well, I did venture out twice, after dark, to take a couple of photos, but that's it. I can't take the heat!

    1. I slept really well. Did NOT want to get up this morning. If I didn't have a million things to do, I would go back to bed right now.
