That's how long it took me to get sick.
Jennie* was sitting with me on Wednesday morning. We were looking at a kit I got from the library. Simple Machines. Discussing inclined planes, pulleys, this and that.
She has been sick for about three weeks now with a cold that just seems to keep hanging on and on and on.
Suddenly she coughed. She brought her arm up and coughed into her elbow, the way she's been taught, but she's six. So sort of missed. A blast of warm air hit me in the face.
About four or five minutes later, she did it again. And I got blasted again.
Yay. I started to feel sort of draggy and congested on Friday morning, and on Saturday, as I sit here writing this, I'm officially sick. Congested, snoring horribly as I sleep, feverish and achy and crabby.
I'm sure I don't have to tell you that I wash my hands as often as I can. It's the last thing I do as I'm walking out the door to go home from work. But I can't turn off the respiratory system, so avoiding germs coughed directly into my face is sort of difficult.
I'm dosed up on Excedrin, about to catch a shower and get dressed for the day. Not bad for only
I wonder, if I'd sprayed Lysol spray up my nose immediately after Jennie* coughed on me, would I be ill this morning?

I spent some time at the doctor's office on Friday and about 8 hours at the ER. Not only was I afraid they were going to kill me, but now I feel worse than I did when I went. Crap!
ReplyDeleteWell, hell, sorry to hear it! Hope you're on the mend soon. This is just a cold. Miserable, feverish keeping me awake and making me feel crappy... but a cold. I'll be able to get to work and all that this week.

ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, I doubt you could do much to prevent it , children are wonderful, but they are little petri dishes full of all manner of germs
