Getting enough sleep always makes me happy.
Helps so much to feel rested when I start the work week.
Amelia* told me on Friday that she gets to snuggle with her mom on Saturdays after they wake up in the morning. She said she goes and climbs into bed with her mommy and daddy and they hug and sometimes they go back to sleep. And that on Saturday afternoons, she gets to take a nap with mom. "It recharges our batteries." she said, in a tone that is probably the same one her mom uses. :)
I am not exhausted or anything on Saturdays, but that afternoon nap is something I really look forward to. Recharging the batteries.
So I did catch a nice long nap on Saturday afternoon. made me feel a lot more human.

Eric fixed the dripping faucets in the tub today. He went and turned off the water to the house, took the parts and went to Home Depot and got what he needed.
He was pleasantly surprised that it was an easy fix, since with this old house it's never easy. Always get into a project and it gets SO involved that it makes everyone a little nuts. We only have one bathroom. I'm glad it was so easy.

I don't have huge plans for the rest of the weekend. After I set this to post I plan to close the lid on the computer and draw for a little while. Catch a shower. Sleep.
I have a ton of laundry to do, as always. I need to make the activity plans for the week (short week, no school on Thursday or Friday.)
I'm perusing the internet for some more batty activities, but I probably have enough for the three days now.

I was thinking about the time I spend working when I'm not at work. I spend at least an hour every day off the clock, working. Some of it on location, a lot of it here and there.
I often clock out (we do it by telephone) and then stop in the school office and chat with the staff. I have a good relationship with the principal and the other people who work there. Makes things easier on several levels. But most of the time, those 10 minutes or more every day are on me, not on the company. I see it as an investment, really.
I shop for work quite often. Goodwill hunting at least once a week, sometimes picking up an item or three when I find them on sale in a retail store, too.
I surf the internet for activities and things for the kids to do that they'll have a good time with and learn from. I'd say I spend a minimum of seven hours a week working that I don't get paid for.
Note... I'm not complaining about it, no one is forcing me to do this. It just surprised me when I took the time to add it up and figure out how much work I actually do when I'm not 'working'.

So now I am going to recharge by playing with my little art supplies and think about a trip to sprawlmart sometime this weekend. We really ought to go tonight, it would be relatively uncrowded if we went now.
I'm in my jammies, though, so I'd have to get dressed and decent all over again.
So no.
How do you recharge? Do you sleep? Eat decadent stuff? Cook? Go for a walk?
Sleep is about the only way for me to recharge and I haven't done nearly enough of it this entire year. I'm hoping that will change soon, I'm tired!
ReplyDeleteI;m tired... I need recharging...
ReplyDeleteblah...
~shoes~
Except for the fact that it's almost 7 p.m., I could use a nap right now. ;0)
ReplyDeleteHope it was a good weekend for you.
(((hugs)))
Relaxing. I've been doing a ton of laundry, though. My mom is about to have shoulder surgery, and I am sending her a box of stuff to wear post-surgery. Soft waisted cotton pants, big shirts. I am getting them all clean so she won't have to do the laundry for awhile.
DeleteHey, you could just go to bed early...
I used to run, lately I'm not doing much of that. AND the whole house hates that... letmetellyou. Napping is a favorite past time as well, or sleeping in. Didn't get much of that this weekend either.
ReplyDeleteTony's not loving me right about now. Neither am I.
How long are you going to be sidelined with the ankle/foot thing? I can soooo sympathize.
DeleteI'm sure you're as lovable as you've ever been. ;)
One of my absolutely favorite things in all the world is a nap on a Saturday afternoon, listening to a baseball or football game on the radio as I doze.
