Is it insulting?

So I know I told you about my company wanting us to wear a uniform shirt, but that they'd had the shirts made in a polyester/cotton blend. I only wear cotton clothing (yes, all of it, even undergarments, top and bottom) because poly, nylon, and other synthetic crap makes my skin break out in this fine little red rash.

Feels like little hooks in my skin when I wear it, and takes three to five days to clear up afterward.

First they suggested that I wear two shirts.
Ha. Not only am I a woman currently being slammed by the happiness of menopause and the hot flashes that go along with it, I'm also a person who gets a little pissy when I feel that I'm not treated fairly.

I felt that unless everyone had to wear two shirts, it wasn't right to ask me to do so.
It was casually dismissive, and not respectful.

So I did a little research. Queried two state organizations regarding the issue. One of them sent me links to several websites with even more information.

I was able to let the company know that it's actually covered under ADA, since it is an immune system response, and that I needed a 100% cotton option.

I got a response to go get a note from my doctor.

So I spent money I don't have to go see her and get that note.
Am I a little insulted that they don't believe me about the cotton? Yes.
I realize (once again) that some people scam.
But what could I possibly gain by lying?

I did what they asked me to do.

Bet ya they're not going to offer to pay for the doctor's visit, either.

I'll let you know if they even bother asking for the note, now that I have it. Personally, I don't think the request came from 'them', I think it came from one person, and that person will probably "forget" to ask me about the doctor's note.

About the doctor... she is now in a large conglomerate practice. It's assembly line medicine. Yahoo.

And one of the things the machine wants/needs/craves is data. Height, weight, nipple size, volume of last bowel movement, how much you pee in a day... well, some of that stuff anyway.

And I don't do scales.

First, you can tell by looking at me that I'm fat. That's what the scale would say, too. How does it benefit me to give them that number?

Right. It doesn't.

So I refuse to do it.

They give me shit about it every time, but I really don't care.

Today my answer was, "Oh, are we planning general anesthesia this morning?" 
When the nurse said, "No...??" I cheerfully told her, "Then there isn't any reason for you to know my exact weight, is there?"

She took me to the exam room. :)
BP was 117/76.
Guess the fat isn't affecting my BP.

Okay. Taking my pissy attitude and going to sleep.
Have I mentioned I get up at 5? AM?

Yeah, maybe once or twice.
