My knee is still... hot.
Aches a bit more than usual.
Kept me awake/woke me up on Friday night.
More than once.
Yay.
I am calling first thing on Monday to file that report. The discomfort and aggravation may subside, it may not. But filing that accident report is probably a smart move.
Although if I seek medical attention, the fuckwits who tried to take my job from me may redouble their efforts. I'd like to see them try. I will raise as large a shitstorm as is humanly possible.

Speaking of assholes.
There was a recall election in Colorado this past week.
Seems that some legislators decided to fuck the people who elected them (yeah, I know, what else is new??) but the fuck-ees didn't like it. So they performed a lobotomy and excised those assholes. Here's another link, also slanted way to the left. They can slant all they want.
Those "representatives" swore to uphold the Constitution. And didn't.
And the peasants rebelled. Good for them.
I think we're tired of being shit on by the people we elect to represent us. Or at least I know I am.
For me the issue isn't gun control (as it was in Colorado) but the fact that they're completely out of touch with us.
You don't get elected unless you're wealthy and powerful already.
If voting really changed anything, we wouldn't be allowed to do it.
But I am glad that at least in Colorado, there's been a message sent.
And the other "representatives" in other states may reconsider legislation that takes away people's rights.
No, I don't just mean guns.
I got into a discussion in a closed group on Facebook. I knew better. But I tried.
I will work on writing it up for my blog sometime... that's the closest estimate I have for you. I left the group without saying anything. I'm not angry. I'm just... rueful. You'd think I'd know better. I guess not. But I have decided that this is no way to spend my spare time and I'm not going to play anymore.

I filled up the gas tank in the car yesterday. I think I've filled up maybe 10 times since April. Or 12, since I did a couple fill ups for my trip to Butthump, Oregon in July.
I love that it costs me about 30 bucks as opposed to the 75-80 it cost to fill the old vehicle. I love that I get at least double the mileage I got with the old vehicle. With the savings on gas it has covered the car payment. That is definitely a positive outcome.
The stereo is a nice little thing, I don't have the BOOMBOOM that you hear at stop lights and when people drive through the neighborhood at 2 AM, but I don't want or need that, either.
I love listening to something on my way to work in the morning and on the way home in the morning. I have a ton of stuff on CD, and this car has a little thing I can plug into my mp3 player to listen to what's on there, too. Endless variety, all stuff I like.
Afternoons are usually reserved for conversations with my assistant.
And by the time the afternoon shift is over and I'm on my way home... well, I am pretty much done with noise. Gee, I wonder why.

I got a call from one of the medical providers who treated me during the emergency visit in April. The doctor from that practice who treated me (introduced himself, ordered a bunch of tests, turned my care over to an amazing nurse, wrote a prescription for anti nausea drugs and signed my discharge papers) charged 800 dollars for his services.
I don't have to pay the entire amount because my insurance picked up quite a bit of it. There was also the contracted deduction/discount to the insurance company. It's 300 and change. (So is the bill from the hospital... separate but equal... haha... 300 and change.) So around $700 dollars remains to be paid.
I made arrangements with the hospital. I explained that during the summer my hours were cut in half. I told them I could guarantee a specific amount per month. They accepted that.
Well, the doctor's billing service informed me that it wasn't enough. That 'we like to have these things paid off in six months.'
I said quite honestly that I'd like that, too. But that it wasn't going to happen.
She said, "Well, I will ask if it's okay."
I told her to go ahead and do that, but the amount I could afford wasn't going to change, and I'd prefer to agree on that amount.
I did not tell her that if it doesn't work, she can just go ahead and turn the account over for collection, but if that happened, they could go fuck themselves. It was tempting. But I didn't. I just sent them a check through my bank. If they cash it, they're agreeing to my terms.
Probably a good idea.

My mom is going to have the shoulder replacement. She has been in contact with some local friends. One of them has had that exact operation, and is doing really well now. I think it will improve her quality of life, although there's really nothing that can be done for her back, sadly. At least she will have arm movement again.
I've been watching Goodwill for soft cotton pants and extra big shirts for her. I remember what a bitch it was to get dressed after having my shoulder all sliced and diced. I have a little package ready to send. Just waiting for pay day.

I'm going to stop randomizing and turn off the computer, clear the area around where I sit at the kitchen table and get out my tangly stuff. It really does help me get into a sort of zen state, and I find it endlessly fascinating and soothing. I've done enough little pages of tangle now to fully wallpaper the bathroom. And possibly half the spare bedroom, too.
I hope you're having a good weekend, that you're not wasting time in circular logic trying to reason with assholes, and that you get at least one really good meal in. I'm making lasagna for Sunday dinner. I'm drooling already.
A lot going on in your little corner of the world!
ReplyDeleteI always say, Lincoln may have freed the slaves, BUT we are governments slaves!
In my "minds eye", I imagine them as looking down on us little people from their throne as we break our ass giving them more of what they want. $$$$
Have a wonderful Sunday and rest that leg/foot if you can. (((hugs)))
Oh yeah, they look down on us. I still owe the fucking IRS some money, too. I don't know how that happens every year. We barely get by as it is, then we have to send them more??? assholes.
DeleteAh yes, deductibles and co pays.
ReplyDeleteThey go hand in hand with anger and profanity. Or maybe that's just in my world. :)
DeleteWhen people buy something that doesn't work, or doesn't fit, they don't have much problem taking it back and exchanging it for something more suitable. It's a shame this isn't done more often with the people elected to office, instead of living with it and complaining until the next election.
ReplyDeleteRest that leg!
Doing housework. Resting some.
DeleteYes. When you buy something that doesn't work, it's time to get something that does. The person I was arguing with thinks that recalls are only supposed to happen for very specific reasons, and voter dissatisfaction isn't one of those reasons.
Aiyeeee! The stupid!! It burns!!!
I know a guy at my asst living/retirement home (ACTUALLY most are here for ONE reason, can't live on our own) who lets EVERY Dr. bill go to collections. He doesn't care. 72yrs old, owns no house or car---what they gonna do? MONEY/SICK GRRR UGH I am alive. Happy to live in USA. But, GEES. Heard about that recall. Watch out for FaceBook fights, just draining and why bother? My own COUSIN unfriended me over my gun control stance. (I suggested a giant magnet take them ALL away. REALLY? THAT made her so mad? Just laughable.) Then she wanted me back. Nope. FB drama is a whole new thang. Take care, this too shall pass. (I mean we all die, right?)
ReplyDeleteI don't take on debt with anything other than the intention of paying. But you know, I am a babysitter. Oh sure, we can have lofty conversations about how I'm an educator (and I am one, I do an amazing job) and how much I care about the children(again true) but I am still PAID like a babysitter. I can't pay money I don't have. It's just that simple.
DeleteI don't agree that guns should be removed from the world, but I understand why some people are scared of them and think that taking them away from people will work.
Just the criminals will have 'em then. That ought to help. ;)
But I think everyone is entitled to think their way... I just don't like the deliberately obtuse. :)
Wow. Family being so mad over a political issue that they don't like you anymore? Sad.
I was also going to make lasagna, but couldn't find the noodles I needed. Maybe sometime this week. I have so much random going on, I don't even think it can be organized into a post right now.
