Took all the kids to Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery on Friday.
They seemed to have a really good time on the excursion, but their favorite part was saying 'the dam field trip.'
"Is it time for the dam field trip yet?"
"I can't wait for Friday and the dam field trip!"
"Can we bring our camera on the dam field trip?"
"Have you ever been on this dam trip before?"
::snicker::
I wore the fracture boot all day instead of a shoe, I knew that I'd be in really bad shape if I didn't.
Did a ton of stairs, lots of walking... the left knee had a lot of water in it this morning, but it seems to have redistributed this evening, at least somewhat. Thank goodness.
After all the stairs I expected to have sore muscles, but I really don't. The biggest problem I have continues to be the left knee, which will never be right again. But it does function at least part of the time. :)
In other news, my baby is home. Matt drove over from where he's living now and went to the airport with us. As we were driving to the parking garage, Lyssa's plane passed over. They landed about 20 minutes early.
We went out for dinner this evening, but Chang's Mongolian Grill has gotten very proud of their stuff... it was 15 bucks a plate... and not worth it.
Plus, the guys doing the cooking were flinging food all over the damn place and I ended up with a few pieces of onion and cilantro in my food. I like onions but they don't like me. And cilantro is a migraine trigger. It worked, too. Got hit with one as I was driving home. Took the migraine medication, but it's been about an hour and I am still feeling crappy, so I think going to bed and sleeping it off is the best choice now.
::sigh::
Ugh. All that walking would be fine for me, but I can't imagine you doing it. SO glad you weren't feeling it all that much after, and that the kids had fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also happy for you that Lyssa is home. It's nice to have the kiddos around, eh?
$15 a plate? Was it a buffet? I think buffets are crazy expensive. We don't do much eating out anyway now, so we watch for places with good prices, like our teeny, tiny local cafe, you know?
I hope you are feeling better today.
It's sort of a buffet, you choose all the raw ingredients and then they toss them up on a round grill and cook. It's supposed to be 'Mongolian' as in, 'the Mongolian soldiers cooked their food on their shields' but I don't know. Beef, chicken, pork, fish, shrimp, water chestnuts, mushrooms, celery, tofu... a ton of other veggies, you make your own sauce with garlic and other things and it's supposed to be your own custom thing. Usually they do really well with keeping things separated. But now that it's gone up so much in price, it won't matter. We won't go back.
DeleteThe Dam trip! lol
ReplyDeleteGlad your girl made it home and that your son could be with you all as well. Bummer you got a migraine, hope you are feeling better this AM.
Oh yeah, they were still calling it the dam trip on Monday. Hee hee.
DeleteI hope the kids got as much enjoyment from the actual trip, as they did from being able to freely use their "special" word to discuss it. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of places have gotten way too proud of their stuff. (without good reason, too)
They had a great time, were still talking about it Monday.
DeleteAnd the 'good reason' I am guessing is that the economy sucks. Despite Uncle Obama telling us all is well. I know, I know, politicians don't lie. (any more than is necessary)
