This is the big, big tangle I've been working on. I hate trying to keep secrets, so I won't even bother.
Tami, eventually this will morph into your birthday present. Fortunately, I still have time to paint the frame, balance the project (It's been cut into 9 what were supposed to be equal parts) and have it all done in time to present it to you in May. You won't have to act surprised.
The first one is a photo of it completely unshaded and not filled in with all the black I wanted. You can see approximately how large the whole thing is because of my hand in the photo. :)
And the 3rd and 4th are reversed, the 4th one is a close up of an unshaded portion, the 3rd one is shaded. Whatever. This is what I've been up to in my spare time.
And what *I* do for tangling. It's not "right" but I love doing it. :)

Wow! It looks like a quilt! It's beautiful, Ami!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I of course look at it and see everything I did wrong, but taken as a whole, I am satisfied.
DeleteThat is beautiful!!!!! Where did you learn to do that?
ReplyDeleteTanglepatterns.com, my own little brain, a couple books and a whole lot of ink and paper.
DeleteI have never been an artist, but doing this stuff makes me feel... competent.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks. It really is just doodling. But it makes me happy.
DeleteNeato, I have no art skills, I'm not even allowed to play with glue sticks.
ReplyDeleteI am not an artist either. Seriously. It's just doodles with a purpose. And I have too much time on my hands. :)
DeleteNice!!

DeleteI. LOVE. It.
ReplyDeleteA high compliment from someone as artistic as you!!
DeleteOmigosh! Beautiful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's going to take a little work to balance all the little pieces and get it to look right, but I have time. :)
DeleteNo,I have seen "not an artist" and this ain't it. :) I can hardly draw a line with a CAD program.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have spent a great deal of time perusing websites and looking at books... and I like what I make, but it's never as good as I want it to be. :)
DeleteAmi, yours looks a lot better than mine; but with Zentangle we shouldn't compare, and always remember that there are no mistakes. That said, your work is beautifully intricate.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I'm gonna try doing it in the round.
