I was going to tell you about Tami's visit to my program on Thursday afternoon.
All the kids loved it, and Tami seemed to have a good time, too.
Jennifer* made her a bookmark. It says, "I lik you."
When you're in the first grade, the silent E is often the invisible E.
But I am tired and can't write it up properly tonight. So I will write it for you tomorrow.
I will tell you though that Tami gave a book to every kid in the program, and when we went to the gym after she left, five of the kids brought their books to the gym with them. They even sat and read them for a bit before running off to play.

Lyssa has had an ongoing knee problem (no, she did not do it at work) and the insurance company turned down Dr Dirtball's request for an MRI.
So we had to take her to an orthopedic doctor.
How much fucking sense does that make?
Our doctor said she needs an MRI.
The insurance said no because she had not had an xray which will not show soft tissue problems anyway.
So instead of a doctor visit and an MRI, there is a doctor visit, an orthopedic doctor visit, xrays AND an MRI for them to pay for. Not that they pay all of it, but a good portion anyway.
::sigh::
So that's today. No school, no work. Taking Lyssa for her MRI, then going to get us both a haircut.
I may even cook dinner.
And tangle a bit.
And I will start all of it by sleeping in until 7:30!
For no apparent reason, I feel compelled to let you know that it was one year ago today that I had my right knee sliced and diced. It's not doing too badly considering, but I'm still pissed off that I had to walk around on it for almost a year and go take care of it myself.
Ah well.
Nice that you get to sleep in a bit, but bummer that it's cuz you are off and taking your gal to the doc. Hope her knee has a good prognosis..
ReplyDeleteWe find out Monday what's going on with her knee. I hope that it doesn't require surgery, but I'm pretty sure it will.
DeleteThe police department put up one of those little trailers in our neighborhood, 'your speed is' and she and her brother were taking turns running at it, trying to get it to light up. Evidently twisting your knee while running can cause trouble. Who knew?
Insurance companies suck.

DeleteOh, no... not another knee injury! Hope it gets squared away without all the hassle you went through. (although insurance is always a hassle)
ReplyDeleteWell, work comp works hard not to take care of you.. or at least toilet hounds like Al Lyons and his shop of assholes. (they may not be toilet hounds or assholes, that's just my opinion, of course.)

ReplyDeleteThings get better. Then they get worse. Then, better again. It's just life. Eventually we get caught up. I am grateful for our insurance and the fact that no one is calling us liars or questioning our integrity on this one.
