Huh.

I start typing. Read what I wrote. Erase it. Write something else.
Repeat.

I finally decided I'm tired and my brain isn't running on all its usual cylinders. I was up several times in the night to either pee or throw the blankets off because I was hot flashin'.

Stupid hormones.

Trying to get paperwork together, bills etc and make sure my attorney gets it all so I can be reimbursed for my expenses.

There's still almost a thousand outstanding from last year's knee surgery alone, and even though they were ordered to pay in JULY they have yet to send the surgery center a dime. Surprise.

Tami is taking me out for lunch today, I hope we have time for a conversation and that we don't run into Flossie.

We are having lunch in the same restaurant where I originally met Flossie, actually. Then, we plan a jaunt to Crap Whorehouse, known in polite company as Craft Warehouse.

I will have to spend a little time looking for my birth certificate, evidently in the State of Oregon, I will have to show it to renew my license. Never mind that I've been licensed in this state (with a few gaps) since 1977 and had to show them a birth certificate in the first place to get the license.

Supposedly this keeps 'illegals' from getting a license. Yes, yes it does. They just don't bother with the license thing. Saves them time and money.

Anyway, I am exhausted, ready for sleep and just... done for the week.

Tomorrow (Sunday) I will tell you what 'my' children had to say about the latest school shooting. I will let you know now though, that kids are pretty smart and have more common sense than many of the adults who are in charge of them.

  1. Do they think your birth certificate has expired since you took it up there all those years ago?

  2. The lady behind the counter blamed me, actually.
"Well, 'you voters' made the decision that everyone who gets a license must be a legal citizen."

I did ask her if my birth certificate had to have the same name and birthplace that it had when I first was licensed. She did not find it humorous.

Of course when one works for the DMV, one must have his or her sense of humor (and logic) removed.

    1. Children deserve far more credit than they get for common sense, for a relatively uncomplicated but perceptive view of the world, and an ability to cut through the crap and just... communicate.

One more reason I love my job.
