Been working on the gnome-y sort of critters I wrote about last week.
I mean, I think it was last week, I don't know. Don't make me go back and look for it, I am feeling lazy plus it's almost bedtime.
I have made several that I stopped part way through, deciding that they weren't working out the way I wanted them to look, and just... tossing the not-so-great ones aside to either work on or trash later. I'm guessing they'll end up trashed.
First, the little foil feet I made and covered with sculpey were too big. The proportions would have ended up all wrong. Sort of like little Festive Frankensteins in winter clothes. Not what I was going for, really.
I made some much smaller feet from the clay, and tried a little smaller person.
Mixed results again, but I did finally end up with one I liked.
Excuse the quality of the photo, phone photo due to the oft mentioned and always present laziness.
The snow baby has a knitted hat, cut from a sweater and sewed together. Between a few stitches here and there, the judicious use of hot glue and some sculpey, I finally ended up with one after a whole lot of work.
But now it's going to be easier, and I think I can crank out quite a few of them, assembly line style.
Unless I've lost interest and need to clean up the mess instead....

OMG Ami, aren't you clever? This little munchkin is adorable, how creative you are! Wow, I am seriously impressed girl, are these going to be Christmas pressies? What a fine gift to receive!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, bonny lass - hope it's a good one!

ReplyDeleteWhoa, those are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I have ZERO creativity. I'm sooooooo jealous.

ReplyDeleteSo totally cute!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
They turned out adorable! Good job.
ReplyDeleteIt, or she, is really cute - but what are you going to DO with a lot of them? Put them in Easter Baskets???
ReplyDeleteThe idea was for them to be ornaments. I have a bunch of little wooden sleds that need to be painted, and was going put the little people on them to give a few as gifts.
ReplyDeleteDidn't happen this year. But I feel like I have a year's head start for NEXT Christmas.
:)
