I spent the day with Eric in Ouray , (say it 'Yoo-ray') Colorado. We swam in the pool, went out for lunch, generally just spent the whole day being together. Because neither one of us wanted to be anywhere else.
That evening, as we sat on a blanket covering the hood of the car, leaned back against the windshield and watched as fireworks were set off over the canyon, we decided we'd end up being married. There was no 'big moment'. No proposal. We just... decided.
So the 4th of July has special sentimental meaning for me.
The car is long gone. The blanket. The swimsuits and swimsuit bodies we had.
But the love that we recognized growing that evening? It has taken over the whole garden. To the point that all that grows there is love.
This is why I love July 4th.
:)
Nice memories! More fireworks than in the canyon, I'd say.
