Ya know...

It's been an interesting week.

Busy busy busy.
Kids are wired.

Rachelle* has been swearing and talking back and generally acting like, well, a child.
Getting on everyone's nerves. Diana*, my assistant, closed on Wednesday afternoon for me, and had a talk with Rachelle's mom. Mom was not pleased with Rachelle's attitude, and thanked Diana for talking with her.

I've mediated so many arguments over Legos this week that it's not even funny.
I have a HUGE collection of Legos. They're mine, not the company's. And we get out a big rug, the two huge plastic bins of Legos, and seven or eight boys gather around and wait to dive in. I have to keep things as fair as I can, so they have to wait until everyone has arrived and been checked in before they can start playing.

We have a play doh container filled with popsicle sticks. Each one is labeled with a child's name, and I draw names. We use it for any activity that is likely to cause arguments... the polly pocket stuff, the legos, the beanie babies. I also draw names when it's reading time. We have several bean bag chairs and other types of chair for the kids to sit in, and drawing names daily is really the only way to make it fair.

So when the Lego boys are all gathered 'round, I draw names. And they may choose ONE THING at a time. It takes awhile, but no one feels like the process is unfair, which is my goal. Gabe* suggested Thursday that 'drawing four things at once is pretty fair' only to be shouted down by the rest of the group. I said, "No, I don't think so." while inside being impressed by his audacity.  ;)

Between PT appointments, acupuncture, driving back and forth, goodwill hunting, haircuts, grocery shopping and maybe taking time to pee, it's been a hell of a week. I'm beyond happy that today is Friday.

Bob arrives around 11 on Saturday. I won't be going to the airport to pick him up, can't walk too far or too fast. So I'll stay home and I'm sure, do a few last minute things to make sure the house looks decent and there's nothing too revolting on the kitchen floor or the walls.

I did get my first acupuncture treatment on the right knee on Thursday. I was impressed. I did not get the warmth on the right that happens within a minute or two on the left, but I did not get that on the left right away, either.

What I DID get was about three hours of pain relief, though.
Not bad. Makes me happy, actually. I'm very impressed.

I'm also really sleepy, my teeth are furry, I have to pee and I need to head for bed. Oh, and I have a fever. Again. ::sigh::

Seem to have caught Eric's cold. Or he caught mine. Either way, we both have it, both of us snored like rabid warthogs last night and will again tonight.

I am hopeful that I'll catch a nap on Friday morning, because I'll be up late on Friday night cleaning up the sty. Er, house.
