First, stare at blank page

Briefly entertain thoughts of being really, really funny.
Making my tens of readers laugh.

Type something funny.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Never criticize your wife's faults.
It may have been those faults that kept her from getting a better husband.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Think of something else funny after deleting the first stuff because it wasn't all that funny.

Toss out more jokes to myself to see if they work...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Polar Bear goes into a bar and says, "Can I have a gin and...
(several minutes later) ...tonic please?"
The bartender serves him and says, "Sure, but why the big pause?"
Polar Bear says, "Don't know, I've always had them."
Gratuitous Baby Polar Bear Pic... just because.
If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?
Did you ever see the customers in a health-food store?
They are pale, skinny people who look half dead.
In a steak house you see robust, ruddy people.
They're dying of course, but they look terrific.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Finally shamelessly lift a joke I saw this week...

Failed a geography quiz.
Got this question wrong:

Where do women have the curliest hair?

Turns out it's Africa.

I love weekends, but I'd be happy to work at my job seven days a week except for the aforementioned 5 AM wakeups I have M-F.

It was an interesting week at work, at least for me.
Same stuff, of course.

Full contact everything.
Kids being funny.
Making me smile. Laugh.
I look forward to being at work every day. I love it while I'm there... even when it's hectic and things are loud and I'm kept so busy I don't have time to pee.

Actually, I love it the most when it's like that.
I also love it the most when an activity I plan comes together.
Or an item I buy makes all the kids happy. Or at least a percentage of them.
I love it the most, well, all the time.
I can't believe I get paid to do this job.
I know how weird that sounds.

But I am so happy where I am.

Remembe
r Liam?

I haven't tried to steer him at all really, I've just allowed him to be who/how he is, and managed to usually have stuff cleaned up and done before he is picked up by dad.

He's making an effort to be just what his dad wants, which I find endearing at the same time I resent that his dad lacks understanding.

He is seriously the most effeminate little boy I've ever had in my program.

None of that nature vs nurture crap. He isn't choosing to be this way. He just is.

He's a neat kid. He's handsome, outgoing, and loves to laugh. He stands out in a crowd because of his huge personality and big laugh. I'm having fun watching him grow, really, and love having him around.

On Friday, he was playing with some of the other boys.
Legos.

I have quite a collection of my own now, and they come out on special occasions.

We were sent to the library for the afternoon on Friday so the school could prepare for family movie night. Part of the event took place in our cafeteria, and they asked me last week if I'd mind moving my program to the library for the afternoon.

Not a problem.

I'm pretty good at keeping kids entertained.

So anyway. Liam was playing with Legos along with four other boys.
They were building all sorts of things.

And Liam had several Lego guys in a boat, and kept sailing the boat over to an island where all the figures changed their hairstyles and clothing. Repeatedly.

Somehow this gives me more hope for his future.

I don't know how I ended with the conversation wandering off, unless it's because I didn't really have a plan when I sat down to write.

Huh.

And I leave you with this.
Tami stopped by this evening.
I sent her home with Eric's nuts in a bag.

  1. Maybe Liam is going to produce the next "Gilligan's Island"?

    Almost Hubs is just thankful that I have ADD. when he asked me to marry him, he distracted me with a shiny object (the ring) and I said yes. Now he's holding me to it. :)

    Nuts in a bag, huh? And how did Eric feel about that?

  2. Sounds like Liam may be a designer or something, pretty cool. Sad that his dad just may never "get him."

    Poor Eric dropped his nuts in a bag and you just gave them away?

  7. Interesting that some of you seem to think this post = ADD.

    I am storing these jokes away and will bring them out at the next party. I am sure they will make the the most popular person there.

  12. Loved the polar bear joke...so did Kei. :)

    So..you run the school program BEFORE and after school? Why did I always think it was just after. Even after knowing you got up that early and who in their right mind would do that if they didn't have to?

    Liam sounds like such a sweetheart.
