And all I got was sand on my floors. (not really... just thought it would look good in this space.)
So they did.
I have to say here how strange it is to say goodbye to the kids as they go off to do stuff like that... it really is.
But also really cool that they enjoy hanging out together enough to go and play somewhere for the day.
They flew the kite, they collected some shells... came home NOT sunburned because they were smart about the sunscreen, were home just a few minutes after 8 PM, and had a nice day together.
They grew up.
Where WAS I?? How did that happen?
Awww! How wonderful that they can go out and do these things, take responsibility for themselves... and still include you in the fun by bringing home some shells and sand. ;)

ReplyDeleteAlthough, I would have said the same thing about my own relationship with my brother, a few years ago. Now, I would give anything to have a day with just my little brother.
(He lives in WY and up until just recently, has been "smothered" with his life choices)
Count your blessings that your kiddos have learned a valuable lesson while they are still able to apply it!
I love it when my kids hang out together! With my daughter's pregnancy there's less and less that they have in common, plus there's the brother-in-law, so they don't hang out together that much anymore.

ReplyDeleteI so agree with you. Kei has no siblings but she has begun to go more. It is so strange to be here all alone. I know she is growing up, but I just want it to be S-L-O-W-E-R!
