Here's a photo of the paint job on the grounds of several schools in our area.



From KGW, a local station, "Maureen Wheeler, a spokeswoman for the Beaverton School District, said the district hires a private contractor for paint removal and lettering work.
School officials learned of the misspelling Friday morning.

Wheeler said it was an honest mistake on the part of the contractor and the crew would be fixing the misspelled word."

As opposed to a dishonest mistake? I've always found that particular phrase sort of awkward.

At least they're going to fix it. Remember this  sign error that I posted about? Those signs are still up in very prominent locations on every school building throughout the school district.

I emailed the superintendent of schools and pointed out the error. He sent me a nice email in return, thanking me and promising to look into it.
I guess it didn't bother him much.

And people still ignore them, too. After every school event, such as basketball practices or music programs, the custodian has to go out and spend a good half hour picking up cigarette butts off the grounds.

Anyway, I have too much spare time on my hands if I'm posting about misspelled signs.

I think I like that.
