My mom called last Saturday night to tell me that the Aryan Nations want to make John Day, Oregon their national headquarters.
Many residents of the area, my parents included, have said they will pack up and leave if those people move in. Here's a link I found about it on a blog:

The view in the photo is pretty close to the view one sees from the deck at my parent's house.
According to my mom, the Aryans proudly displayed swastikas in their motel room.
They were interested in buying the old middle school to make into their main offices.
Mom said the building was now off the market, and that people are planning rallies to make sure the Aryans know they're not wanted there.
Can you imagine having something like that move into your area?
::shudder::
The area I live in (in general, not specifically close to me) has a rather large Aryan nation population, along with a variety of other gangs. I got quite an education when I started teaching and found swatstikas as well as the other gang tags (which are very localized so other than 13, you probably wouldn't know them) etched in the desks.

That certainly would be a different way to shake up a day! Truly the ugly side of diversity, as Holly says, and nationalism as well.
