I don't know where my brain is.
It must have gotten fed up and left the building. How else can you explain all the stupid and forgetful shit I've been doing (or not doing) in the past few weeks?
Example #1.
I left my backpack in the car all night Thursday night.

Example #1.
I left my backpack in the car all night Thursday night.
It has all my stuff in it, the clothes I wear for physical therapy appointments, wallet, a big folder of medical paperwork I'm supposed to turn in, some cash, my small digital camera that I've been taking to work, all my credit cards, driver's license, medication for migraines, bottle of water and a protein bar. My electronic card key for work was uncharacteristically still on its lanyard around my neck when I got home, otherwise it would have been in the backpack, too.
The backpack was still in the car Friday morning and nothing happened to it. I have no idea why, the neighborhood is full of guys walking through and looking into cars. You just can't leave stuff in the car like I did and expect to get away with it.
I was lucky this time.
:::whew::
I'm sure the sleep deprivation isn't helping, but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do about that. My alarm clock is set for 5 AM, but it still has not gone off this school year, I awaken 20 to 30 minutes (or a damn hour) ahead of time and just end up getting out of bed and getting an even earlier start.
That would explain why I make it to work around 6 every morning, although I'm not on the clock until 6:15.
Example #2.
I got a bill from Portland General Electric on Friday (I pay online) telling me that my bill was about twice what it usually is.
WTH?
So I went online and checked. And guess what? I did not pay my power bill last month! No wonder the bill was twice its normal amount!
So I paid it Friday afternoon.
But how the hell did I forget that?
I always pay my bills.
Geez.
So if you happen see my brain wandering around, perhaps leaning helplessly against a wall somewhere making adorable little meeping noises and looking bewildered, could you send it home?
It's a sweet little brain, although it's slightly obsessive and a little fuzzy around the edges, but it's faithful and lovable and has served me fairly well up until recently. I'd really like to see if I could properly host it again.
Mailing instructions and prepaid shipping label on request.

Blimey mate! Sending you lots of hugs!

OMG... If your brain decides to make a trans-oceanic journey, I'll let you know immediately.
ReplyDeleteNo, it is a cute little brain, it likes to snuggle up with my Labrador, and I am keeping it.
ReplyDeleteIt would be covered in yellow dog fur if you got it back. You do not want that now, do you?
Besides, I am 50 and need some extra gray matter. :-)
I'm not sure where mine is either. Feel better?
ReplyDeleteMaybe now you can relax without it constantly bothering you? I don't miss mine right now.
Hugs!!
My brain has been similar the last week or so; not sure if it is illness related or the brain of a menopausal woman which I heard is similar to pregnancy brain. Having not had obvious symptoms of menopause, I can't be sure it is that. I am going to the doc on Tuesday and hopefully he will do tests to rule out other things.
ReplyDeleteMy brain gets that way near my "special" time of the month. I don't know why. What's even worse is that I get mean and insist I didn't forget anything . . . later in the month I have to eat crap and admit I've forgotten EVERYTHING.
ReplyDeleteOy!
If I'll see yours, I'll send to you. I'll spring for the postage since you're such a great girl. ;-)
Maybe my brain is with yours-- they're on vacation together :-)
