When this posts early Tuesday morning, I'm afraid I'll be feeling the same. I'm just in a state of high pissoff and so far, at least, haven't felt the calming I usually feel as the hormones subside.
Matt's still in his braces. His teeth are nearly done, but there's still a little more tooth moving that has to happen.
He goes back on July 13 for either another adjustment or removal of the bands/brackets, depending on if everything moves where it's supposed to.
I drove him up to Sandy on Monday because I wanted to know what's going on, too.
There was construction going on in the middle of downtown Gresham, which made the congestion pretty bad.
I hate it when it's clearly marked ahead of time that traffic will be going down to one lane to accommodate the construction or road work, and people think they're going to get there faster by sneaking up in the closed lane and then trying to nose their way in.
Wait your fucking turn already. Jesus!
Then, on highway 26, heading out, a stupid teenaged driver came barreling up behind me in the right lane (I was in the left, behind someone else, passing a car that was in the right lane) and squeezed his car in right on my front bumper. Now mind you, there was NO ONE BEHIND ME FOR HALF A MILE but this little dickhead HAD to put his car in front of me. He turned left shortly after, so obviously he needed to be in my lane, but since there was no one behind me, and he hauled ass to get in front of me and I had my kids in the car and I had to hit the brakes to avoid hitting his stupid teenage ass, I did something I rarely do.
I honked the horn at him and flipped him off. I would have liked to catch up to him, yank him out of the car and kick the crap out of him.
I guess there's more than one reason I don't carry a gun. Ah well, it would be too hard to aim at 60 mph.
Then, I called the guy at the appliance place. He helped me with troubleshooting over the phone, and between us, we determined that it's the motor in the dryer that's burning out. More than 300 bucks to replace it. In a 13 year old dryer.
Um. No.
I drove down and picked out a new dryer (I'll go pay them tomorrow IF THE DAMN PAYCHECK CLEARS) to be delivered Wednesday.
Because I just have money falling out of my butt and can afford to buy lots of new, shiny things.
I guess if the check doesn't post, I'll have to call them and tell them I want it Thursday instead.
Oh. And 'no work for you on Tuesday' was the message Brashley left on my cell phone Monday afternoon.
That ought to help me pay for a new dryer or maybe some groceries, huh?
I've been watching the job ads. I'm not qualified for many of them, and the ones I *can* do probably don't want to hire someone who can't actually walk much or, you know, work.
I wonder if any of the above items have something to do with my mood?
But here's the silver lining my relentlessly cheerful mother keeps insisting is behind EVERY dark cloud... taking a few days off work and resting has done my knee some good. It's not nearly as sore and isn't waking me up 14 times a night right now. The respite from the discomfort is a bonus for sure.
Bad drivers kill me. Don't forget to breathe!
ReplyDeleteHugs!!
Oh, the bad drivers make me so mad! As do the people driving too slow in front of me. And those with their blinkers on for a year and a half. And the ones that are in the turning lane and then cut over into the straight lane and race the straight lane people across the intersection. Urg. Darn people.
ReplyDeleteI'm desperately catching up on blog reading and can't believe to read the time you have been having lately. I really hope things turn around and quick for you. Enough is enough already I say, I think you are due.
ReplyDeleteBut I burst out laughing at this "I guess there's more than one reason I don't carry a gun." because I can SO relate to that. Not that we are allowed to carry guns here in Canada, but lordy if we were I would be the last person on earth I'd give a gun to. Quick temper means quick trigger finger I'm thinking.
(((((AMI))))) Oh, hun, how I wish I was there with you.. We could sit and bitch together. I will have to e mail you in the morning and fill you in. Needless to say I spent a good portion of my day on the phone with the Governers office!! ACK!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Crappy drivers really tick me off too. I'm a totally safe driver, you know, to other drivers . . . trees . . . beware!
ReplyDeleteI hope it all looks up soon, you're certainly due for a silver lining. If that check doesn't post tomorrow, email me. I've got some "ghetto-black-girl" methods of getting things done that never fail. ;-)
I have to echo Joy on the gun thing. Both those traffic things make me mental. I get a rage going right away with either one of them. It amazes me how many morons and idiots are out there.
ReplyDeleteAnd you don't need more things going wrong. I think you should start your own camp thing; perhaps this is the push you need. You could be the boss and not stand all the time and while you are sitting at home between shifts with Brashly you can do the planning.
I really do hope things take a turn for the better. (((hugs))).
