7. God hates homeschooling. The study, done by the National Center for Education Statistics, notes that the most common reason parents gave as the most important was a desire to provide religious or moral instruction. To the homeschooling Believers out there, didn’t God say “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations”? Didn’t he command, “Ye shall be witnesses unto me”? From my side, to take your faithful children out of schools is to miss an opportunity to spread the grace, power and beauty of the Lord to the common people. (Personally I’m agnostic, but I’m just saying…)

Homeschooling was mentioned in the Bible?
Well color me surprised! All those years of church and I never knew that!

A sufficiently determined researcher, upon completing a short perusal of the month's news stories and archives, would find at least five stories about how a child was not allowed to read his or her bible, share verses, or otherwise demonstrate his or her Christianity in a public school.

Another form of discrimination that's routinely practiced in today's public schools, actually.

I know a few religious homeschoolers.

The religious homeschoolers I know are not homeschooling due to religious reasons. They homeschool, as I do, because it was the best choice for their families.

I know there are religious homeschoolers who are homeschooling because they believe their God expects it of them. That's fine. I just don't believe that their God hates homeschooling.

"God hates homeschooling" sounds like a crock of shit to me, and really, how much sense does it make for an admitted agnostic to add it to a list of reasons one should not homeschool?
